watched the clip finally, and I agree with F that sit took so long of just standing there with no action taken. Staff should take their time with sits if they need to make sure they're following guidelines, but it seems like the insults were getting to him, which you should expect to encounter when you're staff, and in the guidelines it explicitly says you need to be able to take that kind of heat. Staff disrespect isn't a rule so I'm not sure what the "note of behavior" was at 16:45.

Open logs < check damage/death < ask what happened < check sign logs/door logs/just spectate the death position to find base/sign < finish sit. 5 minutes tops.

Almost 2 minutes into the video piklas explains they were probably loitering. That should have made it nice and easy, especially for someone who isnt a new staff member. This whole sit was a huge waste of time and did not need to last as long as it did. While piklas was a little bit rude (moreso just blunt) after the first minute or so - its like not a big deal. You should NOT be threatening notes because the person in your sit is complaining bluntly about the state of the situation. The continued frustration of that sit would've pissed most people off. Piklas showed a little restraint as you can see when he removes "are you stupid" but as time went on his patience was clearly getting lower and lower. This really doesn't paint a good picture when a moderator who's already been demoted before is fumbling what should've have been a quick and easy sit. Mistakes happen, sits can take a while sometimes, but sits like this? I don't see any good reason this shouldve gone down the way it did. This sit was something a fresh tmod who just got out of training would've probably finished faster. A huge nothing burger is exactly right.

I'm not gonna lie, katoons has been staff/played enough to where this should not have happened. I think a strike should be given I am +1  for that. While I dont like to jump for demotions - whats going to improve if after months of staffing and many hours played consistently THIS is how a simple sit is handled?

There are definitely things wrong with how this was handled, to start you should be confirming both sides of the story, not just the reporter's, I believe that if you would have asked both parties at the start there would have been much less tension between you guys and you would actually know what to be looking for as loitering signs can be a fairly trivial thing to deal with.

 

It seems like you were only using slogs to verify, when there are other tools like !shownlr available, you did check his bans but past bans only show that they were once guilty, they do not determine if they are guilty.

i spectated you before i teleported  you with the limited view i had i saw you propblocking/bodyblocking spawntunnel .

i saw you than kill a player and 2 more so i decided to jail as i thought you were a MRDM.
you than immediately started calling me bias staff  from the start you were working fully against me till the end
after you kept saying you innocent and i was planning indeed to give you a 1 week but because you said you are fully innocent i rewatched my recording and in slow motion i indeed saw you were fully innocent i than teleported the player from your official report to sitland after the player told his story. your respons was  that he was  loitering at your base.
i than asked were your base was were you basically said thats your job to find out so i than went spectating around to find the place you killed him.
this is the only part i admit i was wrong (due to rule change of hobo) i thought hobo lord was also effected  on the new rules after you said is not true i went into my rulebook and saw its true what you said and proceeding to end the sit
i will like to add that most average staff member on gmod will had banned you on the way you talked towards me and did not do the effort of  digging deeper in logs/recordings

at the full length of this sit you were not cooperating/you were rude/calling me a bias staff and much more i even had to ask you  a couple of time to not be rude towards me as it disrespecting towards me
yes i can understand you very annoyed but in the end me and the whole staff team is doing this to keep the server running towards a positive experience and we ask the players to do the same and i very dislike players who are very rude towards me and my staff team we are still humans maintain the server on a voluntarily basic

simple said if you did cooperate with the sit this will had taken half the time but you refused to help at anytime to increase the speed of the sit and in the end you proved yourself innocent and no action was taken against you

Im not entirely sure how those 3 people are related to the sit, none of them reported and im not even sure the first kill was RDM as it looked like he drew blood. I do understand that he should not have been blocking the tunnel in the first place but using an unrelated incident as evidence doesnt make much sense, how does it prove master chief was RDMed?

first watch: he is pricked by a blood extractor, he then kills a kidnapper and very clearly accidently kills the kidnapped victim as he is already shooting his gun.

Idk how this took 20 minutes or why the 3 kills were even brought up as they weren't relevant to the sit. You could have done !shownlr (masterchief name) to see where he died in spectate, and then teleported there and seen the base / loitering sign, u also could have checked textscreen logs for the loitering sign and spectated position.

I would also be very frustrated if i was jailed and spoken to by someone who's mic was barely working and then being accused of mass rdm off of nothing, and then the staff member not being able to find out where someone was killed by themselves..

+1 for retraining on how to use commands/how to work an RDM sit.

Yeah I want to touch on these 3 points you made here Katoon.

 

1. So what you're saying is that you would've given a new player a week ban without any proof of what they did? You clearly don't value education > punishment if that's your attitude towards sits.

2. You don't get to compare how other servers run to how this one runs. We say very explicitly even in the MOTD our rules differ more than most darkrp servers. If you don't like the way players talk to you during sits tough. you don't get to punish them for disrespecting you.

 

I don't see you as someone who has or have had common sense now or during your last staff run. You're someone who bases his entire ruleset from an entirely different server and are not willing to change.  If I still had a vote on your matter i'd demote you to t-mod for a minimum of a 2 week training period until you can prove you're willing to adapt to this servers ruleset.

1. Katoon says in this post his plan was to not respond (take accountability for his actions, whether right or wrong) until someone else on the staff team told him he has to respond. Why do you want to defend someone who doesn't want to defend his own actions and why should a person like that be staff?

2. That clip which very few people would ever have to watch 2 or 3 times like you claim is the entire basis for why you were going to ban me for mass rdm with no sits called, not looking at logs and not double checking until 10 minutes into the sit. I am quoting a different staff member in this post "It's unnecessary to always gun for the nuclear option"

3. As someone else pointed out that has nothing to do with the sit that actually was called

 

4. Your response in the sit to me asking why you were asking about the kills no one called a sit for was, "*unintelligible due to mic* bring you right?". I assume you said "I'm asking because I bring you right" which implies you think you can make a sit out of it and it makes it valid for the sole reason of you bringing me.

 

5. It's proven in my clips I could not hear you and I told you that multiple times, you refused to type either because you intentionally didn't want me to understand you or you didn't want to believe me even though you claim you didn't know who i was and you thought i was a random person

 

6. I was crafting and in your clip you can see me move my crafting bench to where people can get around me. Do you think the kidnapper who ran past me phased through me?

7. You asked me to tell you the location of my base 10 minutes into the sit, something i asked you to look up within seconds of the sit beginning seconds of the sit. Do you think I will have any interest in doing your job for you when you have already held me there for 10 minutes? If you were competent you could follow the steps Tene listed above.

8. Hobo megabasing solo has been a rule for nearly a year. I couldn't find the exact date since it's not listed but it is for sure after the date of this post: 

If we go off this post Katoon has logged about 50 days, or over 1200 hours (https://imgur.com/a/D8iHsRt 108-55=53 days) on the server since hobo lord solo megabasing has been a thing. Are you saying you never encountered a hobo lord solo megabasing and never once looked up the hobo lord ruleset once in those over 1200 hours of playing? Again, this is a conservative estimate.

9. The sit would not have been half the duration if I did your job for you. You did that on your own when you decided to try to ban me for mass rdm after spectating me for 39 seconds (no sit called) and then take 5 minutes to find out how to look up a kill position. I firmly believe that the sit would be 5-10 mninutes longer if I didn't explicitly tell you that you had to look for a loitering sign at the kill location, you're welcome  that I told you how to do your volunteer job. Like I said in the sit, if you don't want to use the commands given to you and expect people you bring to a sit to do the job for you then you can resign from staffing.
