If you have a second screen you should put task manager there and go to the Performance tab, examine your resource usage while loading in. If your disk, memory, or CPU are spiking to 100% with that crash you may have a faulty component. Are you dealing with hot temps in your PC?

definitely did, but then again the concurrent player base is the highest it has ever been. I remember around that time, the server pop would go down to like 50 even during peak times if it wasn't the summer time. I also want to give Rubik quite a bit of credit. The updates have been good but not overbearing and the raid changes have been ok over the years even though raiding and basing is 'dead' to many.

Hex, I respect you a lot and am very sorry this happened to you. I'm not aware of the details of this at all but I think everyone should be reminded to be careful and truly think about online safety & privacy. Everyone has to be extremely conscious about what they share with strangers (and the general internet) online, and what amount of personal identifying information can be associated with your full identity. Your absolute goal with few extenuating circumstances should be remaining fairly anonymous online. I've been on this server for a long time but never really heard about the inner dramas and scandals. But the things I do hear about constantly over the years is massive issues related to users sharing their faces or having too much identifying information attached to their Steam/GMod activity. Everyone should be vigilant about their online presence

I'm not sure what's causing it, but there has been server crashes extremely often during the PST-EST late night hours, for me mainly 1:00-3:00 EST. Definitely more common around 3:00. It's really unfortunate because in September the server was carrying a pretty high player base into the late night for my timezone, and now with these crashes the server loses around 30-40% of online users. It'd be nice to know what's causing these consistent crashes, they are very acute and happen without lag. They have been a detriment to the server in recent times

It's good that there is a solid answer to this, but I don't get how anyone who doesn't visit forums/discord is going to get this memo. If I was a new player on the server and saw a dramatic zombie outbreak taking place I would for sure be killing all of them. I feel like this must be a headache for the staff team

I actually really agree with you Zek. I caught myself doing the same thing, and recently have been giving more actual warnings - after all, shouldn’t these warnings BE the equivalent to “verbal warnings”? Don’t get me wrong, there’s a time for verbals and I will give them if I feel it necessary. That being said, I think that we should have something as simple as a note system we can write for each player. Write a verbal warning in there, when they do something against the rules again the staff member reads the note to see past infractions that were not documented in the !warn menu. That’s my input, I think that a system like that would be perfect

hecko everyone, it's sad to say but it's my time to resign. I have nothing to regret in becoming staff on here, and I still will play once a while. The reason for my resignation is simply my activity. I don't want to hold other moderators back from becoming S-Mod because there is someone inactive with the role. I have nothing against the server, and in general I had a great experience as my time as staff. If you are thinking about taking on a staff position I HIGHLY recommend you do so. It's a great experience and generally everyone involved in the staff team is welcoming and kind. Like I said, I will still be playing the server and maybe next summer when I have plenty of free time I will re-apply. Anyways, thanks for everything and thanks to all the fellow staff members that have helped me along. - NuBpC

I only mute players who are saying stuff like that in OOC / Advert / Anonymous. If someone is typing/talking saying stuff like that really anywhere else then spawn/fountain and it's not repetitive and intently hateful, I could care less.
