let me figure out who's Ip's there are to scare them.
when in reality, fuckass gmod players won't really care, if they've joined 1944rp servers they def have all of there shit on some random fourm
also you can barely do shit except see there ISP [Internet Service Provider, like Rogers, Telus, Spectrum, Bell, ECT] And what kind of device and your city If you don't use a VPN, Hyper-personal information isn't leaked unless they trace/reroute your packets, in which case, unplug your modem/router for about 2 minutes, plug it back in, you're set [If you're afraid.]

mine got leaked, and i don't think really anyone cares, its gmod.

IP addresses are not PII unless it’s accompanied by some other data which could be used to correlate it to a specific person. Your Steam username is not PII.

 

There is no threat posed to anyone and this post is nothing more than an attempt to discredit my handling of the situation and sew distrust within the community based on one-sided facts and personal biases against certain groups of players.

I came back about 2-3 months ago, I think, and it's quite upsetting to have to see these posts.
 

So, we've got an IP leak, a DM leak, and a new "probation" punishment that's being beta-tested.

And the official admin response is, "Get a VPN."
 

I have to admit it, nowadays, a VPN is very strongly suggested, especially for Garry's Mod. It's an old engine game; there's not much of a solution to protect everyone.

As for any exploits that lead to such actions like doxxing, IP grabbers, and RATs, the only solution would be to fight them and investigate them if they affect the community. Be careful with what you share, and be careful with links and who you trust.

For the people who got their IP leaked, I strongly suggest, for your safety, that you contact your internet provider to reset/renew your IP. If you mention to the provider that it's related to a security breach, they will most likely do it free of charge.

Hello gang! it's me vbov, sorry for the no reply i just have been hella sick for the past 3 days, i've had 2 eye check ups and since then i've been sick. I wanted just to clear my name on my behalf, none of the IPS we're leaked, if i wanted to i'd be in hella legal trouble, and as a young 18 year old male person from a foreign country (not USA) would like to NOT get into any legal problems especially since i'm broke as fuck, i did not dox anyone or try to blackmail anyone using the ips, i have no logs of the ips, i wasn't trying to intimidate anyone or anything instead i was really scared for the community, since as soon as i found the exploit i reported it to rubik instantly due to the fear of my private info and others, really if i was a bad person would i've told sanzu to reset his router? think about it since me and sanzu had some what of a beef i guess, i'm not really such a bad person to just leak 50+ ips of people for literally no reason as it it's illegal and not in my interests, sorry for the trouble and the misunderstanding's i've caused, and honestly the reason i've talked to it so much is because i was proud of finding such a big exploit and i decided to talk about it to friends which i can say was a big fuck up from me 

i shouldn't have disclosed this exploit to anyone other than rubik and THAT i will take, i understood that i fucked up there, but the doxxing or leaking ips never happened... anyways sorry once again!

 

oh yea i wanted to add some stuff about the screenshots from me in that imgur link, the reason i talked about the exploit is to just tell people that were in my server to be careful while playing titsrp as anybody could've found the same exploit as me, the backdoor comment was just me making a joke (i do not have a backdoor on titsrp, if i did i would've reported it to rubik and get free money lol)

Lowkey tho, I swear you sent me an uncensored version of the ip list picture that day that you were telling people not to log onto the server, you deleted it a minute or two later but as far as I remember it was unredacted and I saw the actual ips.

 

For clarification, he sent me the photo/description of what the exploit was capable of so that I wouldn't disagree with him on the discord when he was telling people not to hop on the server.

 

But honestly it doesn’t matter too much because it’s not like I knew what players coordinated with what ip, to me it was just a random list of ips.

You agreed in dms that if u had the context that i had given you last night your decision to comm vs probation wouldve been swayed.. u can very much say its biased but when given the facts + history of the user involved i think a comm removal is very valid, which you yourself agreed with (from what im reading unless you meant something different?). i think its very clear your stance on this wont change as we dmed for hours about it, and i am fine with that as long as the probation is actually enforced properly as discussed.

I do think all future instances of doxxing / private dm leaking (when its literally obtained via accessing someones discord account from their token and not the person being dmed sharing it) should result in an instant community removal for the player/people involved and encouraging it, no matter who it is. if you disagree with that take then i truly dont know what type of community you wish to have when, as i have said, many people have been banned for doing less or even threatening to do what was done.

as for the ip stuff, i still think the comm shouldve been made aware so i am happy i made this post, correlating an IP address for someones general location isnt really anything until combined with additional info on that user, which is usually very easy to obtain (ie having a first name and first letter of 2nd name + ip can usually lead to u finding lots of info, i have been doxxed this way)
