MRDM + MRDM / Exploiting + Staff/Sit Guidelines Violations

So Bachelor, I can understand where you're coming from and without question I can see on paper how Dunker and Ego both getting off with a verbal seems out of this world. But you have to understand a few things.

- For Dunker's case, I agree with you that even if all parties were fine without punishment he 100% still should have been warned for being a goofball. But for bans, we typically always try to find a way around then first before immediately defaulting to them. While not every member of staff handles things differently, it's ultimately left up to their discretion. If a player seems truly remorseful, and all parties who made a report are properly refunded and don't want the player punished, most members of staff would simply say "Stop being stupid" and send the player back. Dunker isn't a special exception to this. The ultimate thing we underline in the sit guidelines is to use your own discretion, which is what was done here. I see no reason to believe the sit would have been treated any differently if anyone besides Dunker was present in his place.

- As for Ego, the theory of him glitching into Sitland was already debunked. Once again, if he DID exploit into sitland, there'd be another case to discuss as that goes well beyond a slap on the wrist. (Mind you, the players your referring to were also given NUMEROUS chances to stop glitching into sitland before being issued these extensive bans, I.E Slurpie Cup Jr.) Back to the point however, Ego did virtually the exact same thing Dunker did in practice. Which was something stupid. And once again, Henchy followed a simple flowchart to determine how that sit should end.

Did the player seem apologetic and understanding during the sit? > Do the victims involved want the player punished? > How truly severe was it for the players involved? > Punishment.

It was more so a coincidence than anything that the players involved just so happened to be Ego and Dunkerwinkle. You're more than allowed to criticize Henchy for his method of handling sits. You're absolutely within your right to be upset with Ego and Dunker for doing stupid things that probably should have earned them a full on warn. And hell, if you lost anything brother I'm more than happy to give you a refund out of my pocket for it! But this wasn't bias or sit mishandling, this was just Henchy practicing his leniency the same way he would any other player new or experienced.

Kert put it nicely here. Looking at how the situation was handled I can understand how it might *look* odd from out outsider perspective and without full context. At the end of the day henchy would have given the same treatment to anyone else. To agree or disagree with a verbal or a warn is only a matter of personal opinion. Being as how everyone involved was dunkers friend, and everyone was having fun with the situation - henchy handled it as per guidelines. If henchy had banned or warned dunker it only would have made henchy look like a power tripper.

Had you genuinely cared about dunker you should have made a sit yourself. Being as how you did not, henchy had no reason to ban dunker. Had dunker done this to randoms who did not know/like him - the situation would have ended differently. Nobody cared, so henchy didn't care either.

Personally I think henchy can be a little too lenient sometimes but that is a personal preference and staff are allowed to differ in their methods - but he's never out of guidelines about it and he gets positive results with the majority of his situations. You can have a personal disagreement with the situation but it wont change the fact that henchy didn't do anything wrong. I think we've been far too used to power tripping staff enforcing every little thing they can. That's not what we want to nurture here.

As for ego it sounds like the same case of nobody cared, so there was no reason for henchy to care.

-1 for any punishment on henchy, if you are so bent out of shape about dunker RDMing you then +1 for a warn on dunker

Those same people probably got out of the sit and then went RDMing again if they do indeed exist.

This is just so wrong LOL. I have had WAYYYY more situations end positively and without issue than ive had end with them going right back to RDMing.

It happens, sure - but more often than not they do stop. I would rather let a player keep playing if they genuinely stop, than ban someone for a few kills in a gmod server. It ain't that deep

When a fresh-join does this, they will kill 8 people. Maybe one or two guys report them, but they are treated as being MRDM w/ NITRP because they decided to go on a killing spree of 3 or more people, even if those people didn't actively report the MRDMer, it's in the logs. They still broke the rules and unless every single one of them consented actively, you can't seriously say 'Silence is consent to be RDMed.' At that point do the rules even exist? You can't punish me for micspamming the n-word, nobody made a ticket! We all consented to hearing racist remarks! I know that verges on hyperbole but, come on man.

being raciest vs killing a virtual player......

For some reason, my texts del before the message I sent above, so I'll shorten this down. In this case, Dunker had a sit called on him by 3 friends who troll a lot. Dunker doesn't do stuff like this regularly and was let off nicely. Henchy is not biased and has warned 95% of the people he talks to. If this were talking Tom, hench still would have given talking Tom the same fate, nothing, or just a warning, as long as the party doesn't care the fact you failed to make a report in-game. It's weird why make this a big deal now, as for your mob boss statement, that's weird, we are talking about virtual players, not someone losing their hand irl

For the ego thing ego called the sit on dunker aka dunkers friend ego did not care that he got killed woo did not care he got killed bee teeth did not care they got killed if someone else that wasn't in that friend group called a sit  dunker 100 percent would have been banned now yes i can see where your coming from if no one reports it it's okay then no that's not what we are saying what we are saying is its still wrong but we are not going to  punish someone that killed people on gmod if no one cares about it that fact dunker killed that many and no one said anything besides the friend group that he killed shows a lot most players find that stuff funny ex i have killed so many with the Thoms Nade and they know it every time a maxwell drops im coming with a Thomas Nade everyone finds it funny as mostly everyone else has covered it all i won't repeat what they're saying we don't get involved unless it's a huge rule break we rather let players go play the game then kick them off the game in this case i think henchy was being nice and did the right thing hench also asked everyone in sit land are they okay with dunker being let go everyone said yes henchy also asked me should we ban this guy i said no lol its all his friends this is what makes titsrp great the fact we dont take everything so serious if u want that type of darkrp sever it might be best for you to go player another sever all of the players that log on every night to play this hardcore dont go to other severs bc they love this one they know staff isn't going to breath down their neck even for the people that log 10 hrs a week they enjoy this one bc they can still do what dark was made to be troll and have fun.

Sorry for the yap, I know I got off topic. I just want to say man, I hear you, I understand where you're coming from, but I just don't agree with what ur trying to do here. Had you made the report in-game, Dunker would have been banned since you didn't dunker. Shouldn't be banned over this. Henchy is a great staff member, one of the best admins I've seen in the last 4-5 years on this server and 3 years as staff off and on.

I can promise you, Henchy is very unbiased in all cases he takes, and the people he talks to are involved in

I am --1 for any punishment here. I hope you can understand where some of us are coming from, and I will keep reading this over to make sure I have a full grasp of where you're coming from. You can pm me on Discord or respond to me here with any questions or concerns. Have a good day.

This is peanut-gallerying. If an admin had already made a ruling to give somebody a verbal, the only means of changing that is by making a forums report. An SMod or lower simply can't assert authority in this situation in any way that would be effective.

Firstly. This whole thing is wrong. You made no ticket therefore, your opinion (at that time) didn't matter.

I do not use "Discord,"

Secondly. You really should.

MRDMer

Thirdly. Not the hard "er" its MassRDMa (in reference to you trying to equate racism mic-spamming to memeing with an SBC cannon.

4th, you could have made a sit. And it would have been dealt with accordingly. Taking all the time here to go through this level of trouble is insane.

+1 For dunker to get a warn

-1 For ego and Henchy they dindu nuffin

Henchy I have to re-iterate, you honestly believe that out of 20 people, every single one of them consented to being RDMed because they didn't make a report? Even when the fact they didn't make a report was obviously because they thought the situation was being handled?

When a fresh-join does this, they will kill 8 people. Im late to this very long and drawn out report however...

Ive been in this community for a very very long time. I was even a Head Admin at one point. MRDM sits are always treated on a case by case basis. If Dunker killed 20 people and only 3 of them reported him and made a sit asking for him not to be banned then he shouldnt be banned. HOWEVER you reported him and while I wholeheartedly believe this is a petty report he should still recieve some form of punishment. His punishment should follow the correct guidelines for single RDM and take into consideration his history. Whether that be a warn or 1-3 day ban is 100% up to staff discretion.

I applaud the new staff team in taking the time to really investigate sits rather than just slamming people with a 7 day ban. Ive always been an advocate for reducing MRDM bans because it just isnt that big of a deal especially now that Mods+ can refund lost items.

Thank you for your consideration and your posts, but I still don't see how anyone would reasonably say that a verbal warning was appropriate in this situation. This was intentional MRDM. The difference between a verbal warning and a logged warning is that one is a lasting record of what you did: if he was given a verbal, people will eventually forget about that; If he's warned for MRDM, future staff can look at this and make value judgements. There is no fair world where someone offending against 20+ people gets off with a slap on the wrist, even if the offense was "funny."

You have to also realize that many of these people were leaving spawn or on the main road of District 1, looking at the kill log, a lot of these people are new players. New players don't immediately understand how to make a ticket, and the raw destructive power of an SBC cannon can easily be mistaken by a new player as some kind of admin tool. They'll generally gain a negative perception of the server if they are getting killed purposelessly by people they think are staff. Basically, by allowing someone to MRDM you encourage newer players to also do it since it appears like there's no real punishment.

Punishments being discretionary shouldn't be a free day pass to say "It's just gonna be a verbal this time, no black marks on your record" for normally punishable offenses. By any other staff or on any other player I guarantee this would have been handled differently. This isn't a new player with a completely fresh copy of Garry's Mod, it was a prior staff. Even if it's not bias per-se, it's certainly negligent.

Nobody is arguing for staff to start patrolling the server for rule-breaking and punishing everyone, that's basically a strawman. It's just common sense when someone does something obviously against the rules that they be punished fairly. They are given an imperative when they are actually told in a direct & logged fashion to stop. You should be taking into account the entire breadth of who they effect, not just the people in a ticket saying to give them a verbal 'because it would be really funny.'

Staff are expected to be professional, no amount of rank or social favor should change the fact that you represent the entire community, not just a person's friends who got them into a sit to effectively do a mock trial.

You're presenting yourself in a way that makes you seem like you expect the server to be ran in similar fashion to a serious rp server. If in-fact people getting blown up by an sbc cannon was making new players quit by assuming it's staff abuse the server wouldn't be pulling maxed out player numbers every night including weekdays. A very small minority of players join a server called "TitsRP" and see birds flying around shitting on people are going to assume this is a serious server. Realistically the vast majority of players new and old dont care about being killed because you lost nothing and can fly back to where you were at mach fuck with a jetpack/mastersword/Spiderman swep.

You allowing yourself to become enraged at something so simple such as an RDM is only doing you a disservice on the main reason people play games. To have fun and relax. I implore you to change your mindset to a more casual and less vindictive mindset or go find a serious rp server that better suits you as a player.  I say this seeing you also have another report up for a single rdm. Its not that serious bro.

Yes I think I tried to make that said with my statement we are a server called tits RP we are not a serious rp server sure we don’t want anyone’s rp getting ruined but we also won’t nail someone on the head for making a mistake

Jesus christ again you had so much to say so why didn't you make a sit. obviously it affected you very much. I'm just confused why waste your time on fourms when you could have said all this in game.
