MRDM + MRDM / Exploiting + Staff/Sit Guidelines Violations

Who are you reporting?:

Dunkerwickle, STEAM_0:0:103671434; Ego, STEAM_0:0:636762791; Henchy, STEAM_0:1:55138440

Why are you reporting this player?:

Hello, this is a bit of a mass-report but it's all related to one incident, and should be handled in one thread. Essentially how this all started is that Dunkerwickle decided to leave spawn tunnel with an SBC cannon and kill over 20 people. This can happen semi-regularly and is punishable under the rules. This is blatantly obvious by his choice of class and killfeed that this was MRDM. See the screenshots and raw logs below for reference.

Anyway, Dunkerwickle was brought to a sit by Henchy and I assumed that sane minds would prevail in this situation. Dunker has enough time in the server to know that MRDM is against the rules and chose to do it anyway, to massive detriment of others. I don't know if he has priors in this but it should be largely irrelevant given the severity of the offense.

As an outsider, we are incapable of seeing what actually happens during a sit or the direction it takes, but we know the gist of what happened here. The player Ego presumably glitched into sitland (a historically big no-no, people have been banned for long periods for this before) announcing a "SITLAND RAID" and proceeded to SBC cannon the staff sits, killing everybody in this off-limits zone. He was jailed and then not too long later, but then both were completely released without even so much as a logged warning. (Raw SLOGs export proves this much.)

This is all a prelude to essentially say that Henchy allowed these players to grossly break the rules against staff conduct. In the TitsRP Sit Guidelines, the three following quotes are relevant: "DON’T accept a sit just because your friend made it and you're trying to cover for whatever he did, that's favoritism and being corrupt."

"Try to avoid bias - There may be bias, but you should always remain at a neutral standpoint during a sit. If you feel you may have a bias against a user/users in your sit, call another staff to assist you, or take over the sit."

"DON’T allow random users to trespass in your sits."

In the staff guidelines, the spirit of this is also relevant: "DO NOT think you're above the rules. Staff will follow all the server rules as players do."

Henchy is friends with Ego, this much is self-evident. Henchy's join quote makes mention of him, they can frequently be seen in parties raiding together. How can it ever be ethical for him to be the one to administer a punishment, and then for that punishment to be a verbal for something that would've gotten any other player banned? I'm unsure if he's also friends with Dunkerwickle but he effectively allowed Dunkerwickle to get off without being banned or warned for intentional Mass RDM. The facts are not in dispute here, most of these things happened in plain view of everybody online at the time, the only thing we aren't clear on is actually how the sit went down- because we don't have access to what was said there. All we know is neither of these offenders were given fair punishment.

Admins should be held to the highest standards. What if you effectively racketeer for your private clique, allowing them to essentially break rules freely? That is gross misconduct completely unbecoming of senior staff. It damages the entire community by allowing blatant favoritism. If you cover up the misdeeds of people you like to this degree in plain view, what else would you be willing to do, to the detriment of every other player on the server?

Do you have evidence related to this incident?:

Yes

Relevant Info:

I was unable to obtain video of Dunkerwickle MRDMing as I assumed the rule-breaker in question would actually have been punished fairly by the staff after being brought to a sit. Attached are damage/kill logs and the complete log export (in plain .txt) proving that no ban or warn was given to either player. The logs speak for themselves.

So basically, Dunker was reported by 3 people I had spoken to them in the sit they did not care I asked them if they wanted Dunker banned, they said no. During the sit Dunker was apologetic and nobody really seemed to care, and they didn't want him banned nothing of value was lost. I always ask people in sits if they want the other person punished since it's their report.

Same thing happened for Ego, I scolded them both and asked ALL parties involved if they wanted him punished, they said no. I have banned Ego before including my other friends if they broke a rule and the other party wanted them punished. The sit that took place in sit land was a gag and the people that were killed were also their friends. if anyone made a report and wanted a punishment I would've just banned them.

You are able to complete sits without issuing any punishments if reporting players are happy with the outcome, It's just a game.

He killed more than 20 people including me. 20 > 3. When somebody is brought into a sit, people will cease to make reports about them because they assume the issue is being handled. This issue was not handled properly. If a mutual friend of yours was, say, lua scripting, would it be fair or equitable to bring them into a sit and then not ban them because their friend who reported them says "Well, I was cool with them aimbotting so there's no victim. How can you ban someone if there's no real victim?" Justly so, let's move onto something that is exploiting under that justification. Someone knows of a coinflip exploit but only uses it on their friends, they win repeatedly and refuse to disclose this to the bug bounty program. Can you choose to not ban them because "Well their friend thought it was funny LULZ!"

I would think that such a scenario warrants a ban anyway, it shows clear disrespect with the established rules, clear disrespect to the community. If you don't see that, you are so biased that you are completely incapable of effectuating your duties as senior staff.

Exploiting and cheating would be different; we are talking about RDM here. if a player RDMs another and doesn't care staff should not get involved. If a player kills a bunch of people and gets reported, I will bring the people who reported them and talk it out during a sit which then I will ask their thoughts and if they would like me to issue a punishment, which is exactly what happened with Dunkerwickle. if you had reported him, I would've brought you Aswell and asked for your thoughts and you wanted him punished I would punish accordingly and refunded any lost items if you asked. This is something that has been practiced before by all staff.

Let me word this differently then, if a mob boss cuts off the arms of 20 people. Then at trial they only bring in 3 witnesses (because the rest are trying to move on, think justice will be served, are dead/left the server etc.) who say "Well he's actually a really nice dude I don't feel victimized at all 😉" (They are tampered witnesses) and then you as the judge decide to throw out the case- is that justice?

If someone breaks rules, gets their friends to report them real quick so they're the first to get to a sit, they can hold the server hostage because "fair punishment is relative? Should've made a report about someone you already thought was being banned?"

This is bias, whether by staff or players, being popular doesn't make you above the rules. You hold a position of power over nearly everyone, you can't just let this stuff slip because you want to be in the good graces of 'cool people.' In an effect, you represent the TitsRP brand. The rules and guidelines exist for a reason, accountability matters.

⚠️ WARNING! Bias mods and not the smartest players ( @Ego ), I made a sit about the mrdm so i am involved  ⚠️

During the sit all 3 people who reported dunker were asked if they cared about it, nobody said they cared. Instead of calling a sit to get a item you may have lost back u stayed quiet?

If other people cared enough you would think they would also call a sit.

The fact you waited to report something like this again just seems odd to me why wait? why not report dunker for MRDM when it happened and maybe pm a staff member and ask if they could take the sit? why not report Ego for "exploiting into sit land" and have a mod check it out, if they dont take the sit just pm them it is better to ask a staff nicely in pms and see if they could take ur sit than be quiet about it.

Why not report a staff member who is breaking staff guide lines in game or on the forums when it happenes, or even DM rubik on discord with proof of it?

This report seems to be here just to waste time if that makes sense, it doesnt seem like u cared enough to ask a staff member to take your sit or even call one.

Have a great rest of your day - spizz

This is peanut-gallerying. If an admin had already made a ruling to give somebody a verbal, the only means of changing that is by making a forums report. An SMod or lower simply can't assert authority in this situation in any way that would be effective.

I don't know what you mean by "wait to report this" as these things take time to create, they are written to be informative and accurate as possible. This forum post is within 24 hours of the incident and well within report parameters.

I do not use "Discord," and annoying Rubik with something when the answer will likely be: "Use proper channels and submit a report on the forums" wouldn't help anybody. He likely will have to view this anyway. Instead making a report seems like the correct way to deal with a staff decision you think is unfair.

This analogy is kind of crazy you're really comparing body mutilation to killing virtual characters? However, I do understand it from your POV. But I'll say it again if you happened to be one of the reporters in game during that time I would've also brought you and asked you if you would like to see Dunker punished. People old and new have been let off of MRDM many times before if the reporting players don't care or forgive them during the sit, the sit is there to solve issues between the parties involved. There is no bias involved in any of this I can understand why would think that but the sit I had with Dunker was relatively long since everyone was talking and I was hearing both sides of the story and in the end like I said they ended up forgiving Dunker and they wished to drop the report. Staff don't punish players if the reporting players do not want to seek a punishment especially for something simple like RDM.

Henchy I have to re-iterate, you honestly believe that out of 20 people, every single one of them consented to being RDMed because they didn't make a report? Even when the fact they didn't make a report was obviously because they thought the situation was being handled?

When a fresh-join does this, they will kill 8 people. Maybe one or two guys report them, but they are treated as being MRDM w/ NITRP because they decided to go on a killing spree of 3 or more people, even if those people didn't actively report the MRDMer, it's in the logs. They still broke the rules and unless every single one of them consented actively, you can't seriously say 'Silence is consent to be RDMed.' At that point do the rules even exist? You can't punish me for micspamming the n-word, nobody made a ticket! We all consented to hearing racist remarks! I know that verges on hyperbole but, come on man.
