[Changelog] For the DarkRP Server RULES
Rubik replied to TitsRP's topic in Announcements / Changelogs
DO NOT counter / assist actions before getting involved. Ex: Attacking a cop before he knows that you’re associated with the person he is arresting. The cop should know you’re together to prevent confusion. DO NOT counter / assist actions that you are not involved with. Ex: Killing a cop for cuffing someone or killing raiders without having any intent to take over their raid. Party / Gang Rules + You must be in a party BEFORE a raid begins in order to assist. You may not join a party to assist while a raid is taking place. -
If you want to have a meaningful debate on the inconsistencies in the way the staff team handles situations, then this is not the way to do it. Also let's remember that TitsRP is not some multinational incorporated copyrighted trademark LLC. The majority of the people that operate this community are under the age of 20. Also it's worth noting that these people are here to help you on a volunteer basis. They do not have bosses, they are not contractually bound by any code of conduct or professional standards (aside from the Moderator / Admin Guidelines). My point being, this is a DarkRP server, not Facebook. We expect staff to conduct themselves in the best & most professional way possible, but we simply do not have any sort of code of conduct or special training for staff to handle stations like this at the moment. I think everyone (and by everyone I mean you) just needs to chill out. Also I want to point out that "TitsRP is a DarkRP server where small children are welcome. We feast on their screaming obscenities, high pitched voices and enthusiatic energy when they get RDMed" has been the tagline for the server since 2015 and only is broght up as an issue in discussions like this where someone uses it to justify their own wrongdoing. A simple search on the forums would more than likely back me up.

This must have taken a lot of time / effort. Great job!

Like I said multiple times, these bans were issued based on logs that were collected over multiple months. There was no emotion involved other than a sense of relief once we were done logging and ready to patch the exploit. -

I understand, I just think you are not considering the bigger picture. I think it would help if I explained a little further on the ripple effect this type of incident has & restate that we are talking about two completely different exploits here. Allowing players to enchant weapons that they spawn with means that you could make 250k+ as fast as you can type kill in console and drop an item from your inventory. This MUST be patched & the people who obtained money from it SHOULD have their entire progress wiped, I think we can all agree on that. Now, how do we prevent this from happening again? I think giving these players a get out of jail free card, allowing them back onto the server with a empty inventory is only going to incentivize them to find more exploits to recuperate their losses. They have proven to us that we cannot trust them so it's like like we can say "hey, we will let you back only if you promise us you will report any exploits you find". We operate on a system of trust; we trust the players will not abuse the system and will report bugs and exploits to us, not abuse them. If you break that trust, it's very hard to justify having you back! If someone could PROVE our logs are false, that they did not know about this exploit prior to obtaining the items, then I'm sure Sugar would agree with me when I say that we would absolutely consider re-evaluating their ban. -

So you think it's okay for players to be walking around with 800+ million dollars, maxed out gangs, committing raids & bank heists using custom classes with 50 weapon slots, all purchased with exploited money? -

You are simply not reading my responses. I am fully aware of this and I even addressed it in my previous reply. I know how the economy works, this specific exploit required players to do multiple steps to obtain an item for free, and then enchant it. I know with 100% certainty that no one, including staff, spawns with a legendary adminstick in their weapon wheel. Let me reiterate, these players were not banned for having an unobtainable item, they were banned for abusing an exploit that allowed them to drop something that they spawned with, enchant it, and sell for a profit. That is totally different than obtaining a useless item through an in-game mechanic such as kidnapping. -

The line is drawn where to attempt to gain a profit from it. Let's say player A kidnaps a staff on duty and gets a adminstick. He picks it up, realizes it's worthless because he can't inventory it, drop it, or anything like that. Player B does the exact same thing, except he uses an exploit that allows him to actually drop it. He puts an enchantment token on it, gets a legy & now he's able to inventory it and sell it on the AH for 500k. Player A should not be banned for this, he did not do anything wrong. A bug in the game allowed him to obtain an item he should not have, but that was the end of it. Player B tries to abuse said bug for a profit & succeeds. That is where the line is drawn. -

I addressed that already in my lengthy reply. -

There is a major difference between a swep that is completely broken for anyone that is not staff & has a value of zero dollars, and an exploit which could give you unlimited legendary items. 1. Those staff tools are useless to anyone that is not staff 2. They have no value at all, they are only worth what people will pay to own something that can obtained for free by anyone 3. Those items could be obtained by someone with no malicious intent. To ban anyone that is not staff for having an adminstick that doesn't work means we would lose a lot of players over a harmless glitch These players were banned for abusing an exploit that made them money. I don't know of anyone that got wealthy off of selling admin sticks, but I will say that if they had abused this exploit to obtain one, enchant it, and then try to sell it since we have been logging, they are banned. @White Crow -

TL;DR - this ban has absolutely nothing to do with the zombie swep, halloween event or anything like that. This ban was issued based on logs that proved the players in question had inventoried items which were obtained using an exploit. The exploit in question has been abused for months prior to the zombie_swep being added, it's just that with the addition of the new swep, players who were aware of this exploit found a new reason to abuse it (to obtain a game-breaking swep). No one was banned for abusing the zombie swep before it was patched. -

These items were obtained using an exploit which has been known to us for a while, it really has nothing to do with the zombie_swep or any other swep, it's just the fact that these players are the ones who obtained an exploited swep into their inventory. Why is this bad? This exploit was used to gain unlimited free DarkRP cash, potentially more than 250k in a matter of seconds. For clarification, not everyone who was banned was banned for having exploited items. We also issued bans for players who had been abusing a second money exploit over the past several months. I'll admit that banning everyone at once wasn't the best idea because it did cause some confusion over who was banned for what, but the facts are that every single person that was banned either had exploited items in their inventory OR abused a money exploit in which they could have earned 16mil per 10 seconds. Decisions like this are always hard to make, but it is something that must be done to protect the economy & the players who actually grind to earn their money. Without them there would not be a TitsRP. There is always the alternative of not perma banning the player, wiping their inventory, and allowing them back into the server. While this is fine in most cases, let me explain why it could potentially be a BIG issue. A player who has knowingly abused an exploit (I'm not speaking of anyone in particular here & certainly not bunbun) & has failed to report it to us but continues to abuse it multiple times has proved that they are dishonest & untruthworthy. IF we allowed players like that back into the server, what is to say they will not find a new exploit and abuse it instead? I think the players who reported the exploit to us should be unbanned (in fact they should not actually be banned right now). If you did report an exploit to us prior to this mass ban, do reach out to me & we can discuss what to do next. Players like BunBun that claim they just "found an item laying on the ground and picked it up" is oviously impossible to prove, especially when we have conflicting logs that shows he was present multiple times when other people were abusing the exploit (we even logged players who were nearby when an exploit was taking place). BASED ON THE LOGS we have, it looks like BunBun knew of the exploit, perhaps did not take part initially, but eventually picked up one or several of these exploited items and kept them for his own profit. -

I have no involvement in the server, in fact it is not actually me making this post. Actually this post doesn't even exist, what are you reading?

I don't recall any DMs from Lewdness but if you can have them shoot me a DM and just let me know it's okay I can do that for you.

I think allowing the option for players to choose if they want mutes to persist or not was the original plan, but that part never got added. This should be do-able as well as an indicator in the radial menu if you have someone muted.

I can appreciate people standing up against things that they don't agree with & taking action to affect change, but leaving the staff team in mass was not the right solution. Everyone is hurt by this stunt and no one benefited at all. The players now have 7 less moderators to help them & keep the server safe, and the rest of the staff team now has to work harder to pick up the slack. Just my 2 cents.
