He said a couple minutes When you make a voteban with so many staff on, clearly active, you still do have to go through the full process before you jump to a voteban. Especially since this is not that big of a deal and could have waited. It's one thing if its a mass rdmer, its another if its simply just a dumb base situation that can be fixed. Despite what the rule might sound like to you, shooting behind cover is fine, maybe the set up is a little iffy, I think if it was more flat on the ground it would be more fair, since you cant have propclimb in your base/multiple layers like that. (Your base must not require special tools or prop-climbing.) I understand why you might feel frustrated, but you still need to try to exercise some self control before full sending it. From everything I've gathered here the situation was just unnecessarily rushed. I know some people have stated you can call votes for any reason, that's not really true, especially with staff online, whether they are taking your sit in the moment or not. When staff are around, unless you get permission, you only want to save the votes for emergency situations, or after exhausting the other options to get a hold of staff. Edited January 24 by Blue. Don’t like staff behavior? Make a post about it on forums or become staff so you can shine as a role model for other staff to aspire to. It doesn’t justify you attempting to voteban me for alleged failbase just because you couldn’t wait 5 minutes for your sit to be taken. Miami mint vape Posted January 24 Share Posted January 24 so you want me to ask the unresponsive staff to respond? that doesn't make sense blue i have to ask xo or chairman to hop on 90% of the time to get on to take my simple RDM or NLR sits and i always have proof in the form of clips and my logs. its not a problem of me exhausting my options its a problem of staff continuously ignoring my sits and I've brought this up to several high ranking staff members but seems to me nothing changes. He tried to VOTEBAN me while staff were on, 2.) He tried to voteban me for an offense, that even if true, is not allowed for a voteban. 3.) It is also in direct violation of "[DO NOT] voteban someone after being killed in a raid.". If you are going to apply unenforced rules, you should apply them equally even to players you might be biased in favor towards. Yes this is a requirment, try to contact them after your ticket, wait 5 minutes, then you can voteban. Everyone is supposed to be held to this standard with staff online, and if they aren't it's not being properly enforced. Technically per ruling you arent supposed to at all unless staff are not online OR they are all flagged afk. We give obvious room for leniency here because enforcing it that strictly WOULD be absurd. But yes you are expected to try to get a hold of staff if they aren't taking your ticket, this has been mandatory for ages/has been enforced. Dildozer Posted January 25 Share Posted January 25 +1 for a warn of voteban abuse im in the same mindset as blue in that voteban is used for more urgent or pressing rule breaks such as Mass RDM, Propblock, Mass NLR, Constant racism, etc issues that need to be dealt with now and are affecting other players experiences immediately. its not meant for small rule breaks like a potential minor fail base issue in which you can just not raid them until staff take your sit and fix the base. Not to mention you said 6 staff were online. its not what the voteban is there for and it was petty imo. Regardless of whether his base had an issue or not. 1304 Posted January 25 Share Posted January 25 -1 for any punishment. This feels like reaching for a reason to punish someone for calling a voteban when it was valid. Even if you want to say other staff were around, they failed to take the sit. A player shouldn’t have to go outside of GMod at that point.
