Breaking a law means they committed a crime. Thank you goat for showing that. Cops don't spawn with jumpsweps at all. Jumpsweps were illegal meaning they both committed a crime. They didn't use the jumpsweps to stop another crime either. They were just using them to use them as seen in the video. So i used the demote in a rp way and had the fired for breaking law 5. Lets not forget that wanted did act unprofessional during the sit as well. as i have pointed out

Cops can break laws if it's for the purpose of their roleplay duties i.e: arresting criminals.

Would like to point out again that they were using said sweps without doing this.  Meaning that they broke the law without doing their job.

i mean how do u know they werent looking for criminals with their mastersword. What constitutes as ''doing their job''? To use a mastersword must the person theyre chasing be wanted even if theyre gunning everyone down? what if they have their cuffs out for 10seconds without cuffing someone does that constitute breaking the sweps aos law?  What justifies doing their job, and how are you meant to explain that?

i think its generally accepted that cops are above these types of laws that restrict shit like sweps/weapons aos because then like iron said how do they enforce their job.... why was this not something being done when jwalk laws were a thing? because its accepted that cops are allowed to break these laws to perform their duty. in ur clip, to say piklas wasnt performing his duty (he seems to be actively communicating to other CP via chatbox and has his police siren on indicating he is on the search) seems quite silly.

i see this being abused very easily if this warn appeal is accepted, "oh you have a gun out, oh thats a swep, hey you stepped into industrial without a warrant when its an aos district,"

-- on the opposite end, if this does get accepted it completely nerfs the mayor/cp role as a whole, as laws are going to have to be extremely narrowed down (for example sweps laws) to avoid CP being demoted for having their cuffs out, and with mayors only having 9 available laws, with each being 84 characters long, it seems very difficult to make the cp role fun in this aspect and would be a major kill to CP. (they cannot search for crime anymore with their mastersword)

I WAS DIRECTLY INVOLVED IN THIS SITUATION, EVEN BEING CONTACTED BY THE REPORTING USER DUE TO MY AFFILIATION!

Question how were you involved? The demotes had nothing to do with you. You weren't mayor and this appeal doesn't involve you either. So im confused on how you are involved. So i dont think you were directly involved or even involved.

even excluding the obvious implications of allowing this, even within the scenario of this appeal, does no one realize this will end up being a "damned if you do, damned if you dont"

Imagine this exact scenario but the users didn't use a mastersword to engage, will they now get demoted for letting criminals go and not doing their job? from the eyes of the mayor and public this is exactly what it would look like. boom ur now demoted for following the mayor's laws

The "cannot commit crimes" should very obviously imply things that are unnecessary to a cop. Ex: you don't shoot 4 people down you can easily evade to capture a wanted user

i was directly involved

Piklas had me demoted for not arresting someone who he says he says shot him. I never saw any of this and yet i was demoted. Meaning players already do this

not sure why we're playing dumb here jason you pmed me in regard to this situation and involved me directly with the situation.. even forcing me to step in at various points. lets resume back on track with the appeal now

I am not acting dumb here at all. I pm you about something you said in ooc. I thought the mayor had fired you for something so I asked what. That had nothing to do with this. I also don’t know what you mean by forcing you to do something

this is all getting irrelevant now lets stop the chatterboxing and get back on track with the thread, me and you both know that i had to interevene at certain points during this dilemma to avoid further conflict, you made me involved.

now please reply to my points on my post or move on, no time for chit chat and petty quarrels around how i was involved when it was you that involved me, u just seem to be blocking that memory now that i am replying against you.
