Wanted has warned me for "False demote" Why should you be unwarned/unbanned? I did a reasonable demote on him for breaking a law. Isaac himself has agreed that a cop cant break a law to enforce a law. The demote was for breaking a law which he did. So the demote was not false. As far as im aware a cop cant do that. Isaac told me they cant. Yes i am aware Isaac doesn't speak for everyone but i brought this up with isaac before making this appeal. Since a admin is above a smod. Who warned/banned you? Wanted: STEAM_0:1:60039432 How long were you warned or banned for? was warned There was a law up that said " "Law #5: using jumpswep/jetpack/spiderman/jumpboost aos/5k/30 stun stick lashings" I saw wanted break said law as a cop so i had a demote made on him for Breaking law 5. A little after he said he will deal with me and unban himself from the job even though the vote was allowed and wasn't false. wanted said cops are allowed to break laws to enforce them, but if he can break it then that means he is above the law. No ONE can be above the laws and it seems wanted thinks he can be. I told him that he cant break the laws to enforce them. A little after i was pulled to a sit and he asked me why i had him demoted. I told him why again and he warned me and returned me. https://imgur.com/a/bQwjAaB Nothing in the rules states a cop can do this either. My demote was for him breaking law 5 which in fact he did. So the demote was not false as he did break it. Photo also shows wanted being disrespectful to me in the sit as well. Im not pressed about it but ik you cant act like that in a sit. "staff should be professional at all time when interacting with players" "DO be respectful and relatively professional during sits" I just felt like the sit was done wrong imo. He asked why he was demoted even after i told him and when i told him again he called me dumb, then i tried to say some more things and he just returned me. The sit itself lasted only 43 seconds. This whole time i have always known it to be that you can have a cop demoted for breaking a law. even if it is counted as false then it should at least be a education or a verbal for a first offense as i haven't false demoted someone before and i wasn't disrespectful in the sit. I feel as didn't break a rule but if the majority thinks i did i ask that it at least be a verbal or a education as i haven't done this before and was not aware a could not have a cop demoted for breaking a law. I myself have seen cops get demoted for breaking laws before in the pass. Laws just like this one. I just feel like the warn is false or just shouldn't be a warn at all. Im not the best for writing stuff like this so i do apologize if anything is hard to read. This isnt a report but just a warn appeal. You can not make a law to make someone above the law If it says you cant make a law to put someone above a law that means cops cant be above the laws either. Nothing says there is a exception to this. If we need to it would be great if we can get clarification on this then. I wish for the warn to be removed as a education and if it cant then at least a verbal as this is my first time doing this and i wasn't aware i couldn't. Cops can break laws if it's for the purpose of their roleplay duties i.e: arresting criminals. This is more obvious with a comparison of Sweps being illegal. Arrest baton, Cuffs, Autowant, those are all sweps, yet a cop can use them when they're illegal due to the cops pursuing/arresting criminals. Big -1 for a warn removal. Return of the Mack Posted February 4, 2024 Share Posted February 4, 2024 (edited) The thing you're referring to for making PLAYERs above the law is this: You can not make a law to make someone above the law because it breaks role-play (ex: JohnSteven22 is immune to all laws because he is my friend) this is very obviously saying you can't make specific players or jobs above the law. It is also so so so obvious cops can break the laws in order to enforce them otherwise cops could literally not do their jobs. How can cops cuff if sweps are AOS, how can cops raid with a warrant when a default law (cannot be changed by mayor) is you can't break into homes. The reason this was a warn is because you were just fired then just sitting at fountain looking at all cops to try to find any reason to demote them maliciously. Both Piklas and I were actively chasing someone and non lethaling them and you demoted us for using sweps. A cop does not spawn with jump sweps at all unless you have a cc and even then if you make your cc a cop it wont give you a jump swep unless you put it on your job. (Jump sweps are not a cop item)As i said Cops cant be above the law. Its also why the mayor cant make anyone above the law. Nothing has been said otherwise from what i have seen. Again this is still my first time every doing something like this ad i was not aware it was not allowed. Please go back to my previous example of cops being allowed to raid with a warrant even though a default law is: Law #2: Do not steal or break into people's homes. (This law cannot be changed no matter what) I just don't know what to say if a previous moderator genuinely believes that cops aren't allowed to break some laws in order to enforce them. In the past i have seen cops get demoted for breaking laws and nothing happened to those players. You cant be above the law. You are basically saying cops can be above the law.
