Why were you banned or warned?

Apparent RDM. I was baited into a building under the pretense of free guns. The donor of said guns then told me to look at the wall to my right that I didnt see walking in. On the wall was "KoS if inside". Because I thought he was about to kill me, I killed him and left the building. He then went on to revenge RDM me 3 times while I was walking around, not remotely close to his building.

Why should you be unwarned/unbanned?

It is not RDM if the person I killed was being actively hostile towards me, by inadvertently announcing I'm KOS and drawing a weapon. I called the sit because he revenge RDM'd me 3 more times after, but why am I the one who gets punished?

So sadly you cant just kill someone for pointing a weapon at you or saying they will kill you unless they  shoot you. What job were you at this time and do you have any logs or video of the incident?

So let me explain it to you: on this server, unless someone shoots you first, you can't kill them. To this rule obviously there are some exceptions but unfortunately walking into a KoS base isn't one of them (He doesn't even need a sign because it's his base so it's KoS to anyone he wants). About the RDM's, he killed you twice so he got a warn for RDM X2, you killed him once so you got a warn for RDM, simple as that. So for me it's a -1 for the removal of the warn.

As someone who doesn't have many hours on the server, I can see how you would think that if someone pulls a gun says they are about to kill you it would mean you are able to defend yourself and kill them first but unfortunately that's not how it works here. As sittoandmori said above "on this server, unless someone shoots you first, you can't kill them." 

DO NOT counter actions before getting involved.

I would advise you to at least skim over the rules so you'll know next time when its right or wrong to kill another player.

As the other staff members were saying, you indeed do have to wait until he at least fires a shot to attack him back as it is otherwise RDM. Given that both sides received a punishment for what they did, I believe we can end the situation here. I'm sorry that this situation ended up like this, and I understand how from your perspective the guy was clearly going to kill you and so you attacked him first, but please be more careful next time as we simply don't allow "hostile intent" no matter how clear, to dictate a preemptive killing on this server. Bullets have to be shot in your direction before you can do anything back.

 

To @cobaselic and @ItIsWubs: This wasn't considered a raid because he went into the building with the intention of getting guns and not being hostile. If you are raiding, it has to clearly be a raid and not just used as a label added on after the fact to justify killing the guy before he actually attacks him first.
