Why were you banned or warned?

I was banned for MRDM/NITRP back in october 2022

Why should you be unwarned/unbanned?

When I was first applying for staff I noticed I had a ban I did not remember being brought into a sit for or being banned for. When I did find out the person who banned me at the time had completely left the community after being banned for IRL trading. I did reach out to them with no luck and just gave up on that one. Then I asked Sugar if he had the logs of it and he did! After reading it I remember the events of what happened a bit. I had a public base on the rooftop right outside of the spawn to fountain tunnel which had a one way shooting floor that stood over this tunnel so you could watch people coming out of spawn and shoot them. During this time I was not staff and i probably shouldn't have done this but who hasn't? I along with some other people in the base with me were spawn killing some people who were mass rdming from the tunnel and around fountain. As I said before I should've just called a sit on them but I thought it would be more entertaining to kill them instead and then we starting killing people. Now after this comes when the ban occurred. I'm not sure if I had killed someone else without realizing or the staff accidently banned me on mistake but as I said at the start of this I have 0 memory of the ban occurring. I'm not personally going to vote on this appeal but let the other staff vote and see if they think the ban was warranted or not. I don't know who called the sit on me at the time but I'll post all the relevant logs below for people to look through. Also I was banned 15 minutes after i had logged off.

Who warned/banned you?

How long were you warned or banned for?

This is most of relevant logs that involve me (the rest are what Zoop was doing for when he was on) If needed I can provide the whole log sheet

[Succ The Zucc]

It's your only ban which is why I'm voting on this. Otherwise I would have probably said this is way too old to even want to look at.

As for the evidence provided I understand why you did what you did. I've seen players kill the MassRDMer so that other players can make the sit. It isn't unheard of. +1 from me. Next time just dont get banned.

Revising the whole message.

[Mild Tsunami]

I agree with Succ The Zucc you know what you are doing now as staff but as a player before staff I can understanding taking stuff into your own hands +1

[Guest]

Don't get me wrong F___, killing a RDMr makes you the RDMr yourself, i think you know it already but still though, i understand that its something most of us have done, either with or without knowledge about it being against the rules, i appreciate the transparency into your situation, just dont do stuff like that in the future (specially as a staff member) and you will be good : )

+1 for removing the ban off of his record

[riddim]

I'll be completely honest here, before I was staff I also used to be the person to RDM people MRDMing, so I completely understand why you did it. It's been nearly a year and I understand you also want a clean record as SMod.

Hey F, yea i agree with everyone here  and  I dont see a problem just removing the ban off of your record. I would personally too kill the MRDMer and have some glory of doing it. So is a +1 for me

[Ironfish1]

Hey F___, I personally have no issue with you at all, however, I ran through this situation as if I were responding to a normal player's ban appeal. Whether it was a year ago or not I know that if someone appealed a ban when the ban itself was valid, and there was a server rule broken to receive the ban I would be a -1. I understand that you took matters into your own hands and started killing the mrdm'er, but that goes against this rule: "DO NOT take rule violations into your own hands, someone else breaking the rules doesn't mean you get to and you can be punished too". With that being said, you know the rules considering you're an SMod, so I see no reason for this ban to be removed. -1  Quick Edit: I just forgot we recently had two ban appeals denied for the exact reason of taking rule violations into their own hands.

Best Regards,

Ironfish1

After some reconsideration and thought to myself my last comment gave off bias towards F, my sincere apologies. Based off the logs and what you said, it definitely looks like MRDM and since a sit was made on you it was more than a completely valid ban.

As I said before I should've just called a sit on them but I thought it would be more entertaining to kill them instead and then we starting killing people

It's true you should have called a sit, I'm not sure if the rules were different back then but one of the rules now is to not take rule breaking matters into your own hands so I'm gonna go ahead and change my opinion to a

[Succ The Zucc]

After reading what the other +1s on this appeal say I will also be making my +1 into a -1. The reason for this is due to 2 main reasons. You shouldn't just get a pass because of it being Zoop, like I said in my initial response the ban itself is very old. We typically would UNBAN but not remove the ban typically for this depending on the situation at hand and at the time we don't have Zoops reasoning for this. And number 2 the notion that you are a staff member now should indicate a personal growth therefore you should be allowed to have it removed isn't in 1 good faith and 2 good staffing. It's a history for a reason it's the equivalent of removing my warns from 2018 because while I did break NLR I didn't know that we didn't advert Raid on this server.

Furthermore, the idea of killing the MassRDMer...This was common practice back in the days of 2019 moving into 2020 especially if you were in a discord you'd have a guy making the sit when the other guy killed the MassRDMer. It didn't mean it wasn't against the rules just typically staff wouldn't punish for it. Like going back to your base after you died in the raid as long as you don't actually interfere in it most people don't actually care and won't report for it, it doesn't mean you didn't break the rule. Which is why I would give personal lenience to it and why I understand the want to have this removed. That said you did technically do the RDM and time for it showing you never appealed it.

So with all of this said. Taking the rules into your own hands isn't allowed and hasn't ever been allowed. You did technically RDM so the punishment is technically justified. Shitty but it is. Had you appealed when it happened you would likely have had a better result but that's not where we are now.
