hecko everyone, I wanted to create this post to see some different viewpoints on the staff team. On this thread you may discuss things we should of differently or suggest staff related things. Like adding a new rule, changing a punishment time, or just leaving your general viewpoint on the staff team. This thread is not for: Shitposts, reports on staff, people telling me little jimmy should be admin, etc. 

 

I'm intrigued to see what people think and potential suggestions!

An issue I see right now is that there is some unspoken rule that staff are better than other people. Imo the way that in general some staff act they want people to kiss their boot or have special priveleges as staff. So for example someone who is new might say or ask something that isn't entirely correct in the rules and 3 staff members will correct that person but form it as an insult (i.e. What a stupid question we don't advert raid on this server) which I think would turn people off from playing the server when new. Essentially I just want to remind the staff team that not everyone will respond to that kind of attitude when talking to someone who represents the server, think about if a teacher on your school would call you stupid for not knowing the solution to a math problem or talking down to you because they are in a higher position.

 

There have been huge improvements to how sits are conducted and how often it seems people are complaining about them not being taken so gold star there !

An excellent point. I will keep an eye out for any non helpful/insulting feedback when dealing with players!

I have no issues with the staff team personally. However (your PSA post goes along with this) there are way too few of them. You see, having a 100 Player server (was 110 yesterday) and ONLY 43 staff member in total (some don't even hop on) is quite disturbing. If every single staff member (currently by the staff list page) were to hop on, there would be 43 staff members and a wopping 67 normal players (if the server was full and had 110 players on it. If not, there would be 57 normal players) which is not too well.

 

There should definitely be a tad bit more lower ranks since we just got a new Senior Moderator and an Admin yesterday meaning 5 admins, and 5 senior mods. We have plenty in that category (more senior mods will come soon probably though), but I feel as if we need more Moderators to extend bans, help tmods out and more Trial Moderators to learn more and obviously get mod. But there is definitely enough admins at this time.

We'd love to have more t-mods and mods, but there aren't very many apps being accepted because often times people will put forth no effort into their application. We especially can't accept someone who gets multiple scenarios wrong.

 

As for staff talking down to other players, that's something we're all going to have to keep an eye out for and put an end to.
