Spectate is not to be used for RP purposes. Ever. Ever. I don't care if you're trying to catch your friend picking his nose, if it gives you an RP advantage in any way it is abusing your staff powers.

Running in after someone gets kicked is really scummy, but if the staff member didn't stick around to stop it from happening I guess there's no problem with it.

Spectating is supposed to be only used for things or people on suspicion of exploiting or hacking, using it in rp is downright abuse. Why thinking doing that is ok is not good.

    Yeesh capeesh. I'm going to use Walter as my example because Walter enjoys sucking on the large slongs of his superiors, and inhibiting rp rather than encouraging it by nitpicking every rule. Often the rule of common sense carries no value, and the fact that we have no active admins to support the changing of the in-game rules doesn't speak highly to those who strictly follow rules that could very well be outdated or rather a hindrance to rp. I suppose we should quickly forget that Piklas is five times as active as you, and let's negate all the good he has done as well! While you spew your mindless comments that dictate the opinions of others that will ultimately make the decision.  Unfortunately the ruling of this community is often the result of people throwing others under the bus - even if the transgression was something as trivial as spectating your gang member to find him... But again Walter, let's do our diligence to continue to help the server to improve.

Technically it was proven by him saying he spectated Tact because he couldn't find the raid (The raid being our base) and in doing so you can see names through walls where he would of noticed ours were not there.

 

Also, not sure what circumstances your referring to that makes this damming.

As in, you say it isn't provable, even though you think its obvious it might be in the start (which is normal), but once you look deeper you can see that he might have spectated Tact which I see no harm in just spectating. Without proof of him supposedly "moving around in the spectate" I don't see how you can just say it is OBVIOUS.

Okay I'm going to address this issue, and then the big picture as a whole.

 

1. Sneaking into someones base while they're trying to recover their defenses is kind of a shitty thing to do, but unfortunately if you did have raidables inside it's not technically against the rules
   
2. Spectating someone without valid suspicion of them having broken a rule is abuse of power and should most definitely be, and is punishable 
   

Now the big picture 

 

Over the last few months I've seen many reports and ban appeals pertaining to piklas, and I've personally witnessed the lack of motivation he has to do actual staff work. Now I'm going to quote both dindu and blacnova on something here. "Alone none of these actions have been enough to be demotable, but together they show a pattern" - report on mr. This is the same situation, alone none of the reports/ban appeals are demotable, but together they show a pattern, that pattern being a blatant blazè attitude toward the staff work piklas signed up to do.

Now let it be said that I have absolutely nothing against piklas as a person, but as a staff member I just don't feel he is as passionate as he could be about the job he volunteered to do.

Okay, I read this through a few times and I came to an agreement for myself. I personally like Piklas as a person. He is very funny, nice, and usually entertaining. But over the past two or so months, he's been getting more ban appeals and reports on him than anyone else. I don't like seeing this stuff since he's usually a nice guy, but he does need to step up his act as a staff member and do more stuff. Now, even though Piklas is a nice guy, doesn't necessarily mean he does a lot as a staff member. There have been many reports on him abusing, stalling, etc and overall a lot of ban appeals from his name pretty much beating everyone else in that category. 

 

Sorry, but I'm +1 for demotion.

 

I do love Piklas, but there has been a lot in reports and ban appeals over his name, and I'm mainly doing it for him to rethink things over and could possibly realize what he has done. But then again, he also did abuse here and a lot of other things recently that makes me lead to me believing he should have a demotion.
