Regardless, if Staff is online, and logs show an NLR or rulebreak, handle it in a sit. If staff cant take the sit at the moment, you cant just voteban. If the staff are truly AFK it will show 0 staff online. It seems kiezuh was just AFK at the time of the sit being entered (after a short period of time, staff cant see past tickets if they go unclaimed). If it showed there was no staff online, then in that case you could use voteban. I am not so sure the situation needed a voteban however.

The exact ruling on vote ban/kick is that if staff that are on are not taking any sits you're perfectly allowed to use the vote system. If a staff member intervenes in the vote being made they are forced to take your ticket at that point. 

 

As for my opinion on the ban message, claiming it as player toxicity is a stretch. There was no slurs made, that said messages like that shouldn't exist; as for the validity of the message that's up to you. 

 

Furthermore. The NLR break in question. I have several questions. 1st question, where was he arrested? Outside the base, if so where outside? 2nd question, why a voteban and not a votekick if it would just delete the props? (Question 2 is more out of curiosity) 3rd question, when you went back why did you kill him (Hoofly)

 

I personally think a singular NLR break is in of itself not enough to warrant a voteban but you add into account FailRP-destroying ents in a raid (even if it is being raided by cops) and I could understand a voteban.

 

Until my questions are answered I'm -1 for right now.

According to the timings, it seems like the arrest was at the bases location, unsure if outside or inside. Regardless I don't think a ban was the right move for this taking place. Probably would have been a better idea to just kick the user

1. he was arrested outside right next to the base, we had already started the raid before arresting him. if i arrested him anywhere within the district it would be valid anyways.

2. Tbh idk why i did a voteban i didnt really think about a votekick ig that would have worked. There were no props deleted bc we were unaware when we started the raid but a different guy had the dupe down but hoofly owned the doors, we did end up warranting that guy too. But really that shouldnt matter bc hoofly owned the actual base. ontop of the fact that the voteban was done after the raid was over.

I can admit that i should have probably done a votekick instead but these staff saying that i cant do a votekick/ban when staff are afk is wrong. 

 

Im fine getting restricted but i feel like voting for a week restrict is a little crazy, but whateva.

 

If this ban does get removed from his record he should receive a note saying that he did in fact break nlr. (thank you again @kiezuhfor providing these very useful logs that u cant read)

 

Very professional @kiezuhits okay to admit youre wrong but no need to minus react valid responses.

Honestly with your sit not being taken, a voteban isn't crazy for this. Would a vote kick have been better? Maybe

Unless I'm missing something, everything seems valid for a voteban to me. Only problem is that terry didn't have logs for it ( actually suprising tbh ) but kiezuh posted the logs for it so it can be confirmed.

 

A voteban may be a stretch given your priors and knowledge of the server, but it's not false.

To Hoofly's credit since Terry says outside the base and he was automatically unarrested either due to a pet ability or a perk of some some kind I could potentially see where he thought NLR wouldn't apply here since he was basically TPd to the doors of PD rather than actually being "arrested"

 

RRDM isn't exactly revenge if it wasn't intentional/knowingly doing it.

 

FailRP...well yeah that was totally on him.

 

Even when giving some level of credit in terms of just the scenario at hand here I still believe that Terry did nothing wrong in terms of how the vote rules are currently. He did everything correctly per our rules. (Albeit a little extensive on using a ban over a kick)

Since we not actually have guidelines for players in regards to the Vote Kick/Ban system Terry shouldn't be punished as this was still valid. Staff were currently away and if staff are AFK or busy and allow a vote to go through it is up to the user to have evidence to backup their kick/ban. 

 

In this situation a kick would have been justified but not a ban, I'll add guidelines and examples for it once I get home so everyone has the same info. 

 

+1 Remove the ban off Hooflys record

-Terry to not recieve a vote restrict but a verbal in regards to not using ban over kick for minor issues
