I was timed out on discord for joking about buying a alt account from hellen wong. Why should you be unwarned/unbanned? Im unsure why all the sudden im singled out for joking about alting, ive seen numerous people over the last few months make similar jokes. Some of these people are staff too. The screen shots i was sent by isaac of blacnovas reasoning really dont warrant a timeout imo. The screenshots i sent of the supposed account i bought from hellen wong are over a year old. I think he did a hasty timeout on me out of hatred and bias. You are an ex-smod who knows exactly how to circumvent the alt system. I didnt break any rules by posting that unless theres a new unwritten rule about buying alt accounts. Even then those messages are from over a year ago showing i didnt even buy an account. Not sure what me being ex smod has anything to do with this. When i was smod no one would have gaf about posting that especially after showing proof they didn't even buy a account. Forums now hides posts / comments automatically to prevent flooding or trolling and needs manual approval dont think anyone is denying them that I see. Posted June 25 Share Posted June 25 (edited) Yea I'll be honest, I didn't think this was a precedent being set, plenty of people joke about alting, being alts, and sometimes they're serious, but it's usually just jokes. Everyone with any slight presence in the community knows about hellen wong, and how to buy alt accounts, it's just not something super secret. TBH this is only slightly worse than these examples here. It'd be one thing if he was posting links to the site or posting screenshots of him currently ingame after being banned or something, but I feel like pushing back this much over a joke is just gonna encourage someone to actually alt just out of spite lol. I'd just say had I been in this situation I probably would have told him to ease up on the joking, and at most if he kept getting worse for some reason a 5-10m mute. I gotta say I agree here, this doesn't seem severe enough to bother punishing past a "stop it" and maybe a 5-10m mute if they keep pushing, but this doesn't seem all that terrible.
