asking me the question “what ideas or content do you want then?” please refer to the suggestion regarding trash man for example. the server content updates shouldn’t be gimmicky schlock like do your battlepass task of process 1 million dollars in trash cubes or something in order to get your new recipe for novelty tool that i will never use. i promise you the core population of players on the server who join who are not habitual discord or forums users such as those who have replied have ever completed one battlepass. they enjoy roleplay (meaning playing cop, playing dumb jobs, building things, shooting people, social interaction, etc). they don’t really have any strong opinion on the battlepass either, they join to mess around. even those on the server who “base” i imagine are not really super excited to do a battlepass. it’s a chore more than anything. i also see that some of you (roughly more than half according to the current poll status)  for whatever reason believe that these current updates are good. you are wrong. I think some you would be satisfied with just about any update even if it was literal dogshit if you are of that opinion (because you are effectively bovine cattle).
 

also, the idea that we cannot get good updates because it will lag the server or something I also refuse to accept. we can get as many new custom class items as pay piggys pay commission rubik to add that have all sorts of sparkly effects that make it so I can’t even spawn my base due to the model limit or whatever but we cannot get a cool update. all my points still stand. as is always, quality over quantity. less CONTENT updates but with more depth to them (nobody denies that we need bug fixes) spaced out rather than forced seasonal battlepasses would be a good start. as mentioned previously by someone a boss fight style event with the goons or something of the sort is far more interesting than any of the new battlepasses.

 

edit: another issue is this. what is the point of me or others writing new ideas for the server developers (that is their job, by the way)? what would happen? oh right it would be almost totally ignored because it requires more than 20 minutes of effort, or take literal years to be released likely half-assed like the gang update (disappointing lackluster update we waited years for). these “be the change you want to see” platitudes are an excuse. for example at release gang members couldn’t even use the gang bank (key feature) after rubik said he couldn’t code officers to have access to it. now only co-owners can use the bank (since rubik can’t code this) not even officers. the co-owner “solution” for gangs was not even an idea from rubik but by players. get over yourselves. look at the absolute state of the server. find someone to help you super administrators, be honest with us and stop blowing smoke up our asses. lets see when you finally make it so you can click on your ui to join an event rather than type it in the chat. overdue change ETA: next year maybe.

I think you have to be a little more fair to rubik and his situation.

 

Everything you have an issue with is a long term effect of Sugar's departure from the server. Long term updates are easier to do when you effectively bury yourself in code (a la Sugar) AND you have a trusted developer (the one who bankrolled the server when in was facing bankruptcy in 2018) by your side.

 

Nowadays it's a one man team. Hell, if I'm rubik, I'm not trusting anyone in the community with source code. For very good reason.

 

Smart businesses (which is what TitsRP is, a business) do not drastically implement radical change for the sake of radical change. You might think things have gotten "stale", but there's a reason most other Gmod servers use rpdowntowntits_v2 and have custom classes. They want to be us, but come across as Temu versions.

I actually went back and re-read everything and THIS right here. I'm with you 100%. I call it the "Fortniteing of TitsRP". You're spot on with this critique. 

 

Real jobs that actually interact with each other in a complimentary way > "Hey dude, can I cuff you and stick you to the wall 4 times in a row? I need it for the battlepass".

i agree with almost everything you say. however i wish to be hard on rubik because I don’t feel as if he receives much of any sharp constructive criticism. i think he is stubborn and not hiring devs (they do not have to be from this community, certain scum doxxers made sugar leave from what I remember) along with the excuses as to why he can’t are not sufficient for me. it is his server after all, he can pull the plug if he so pleases. i merely think that it could be better. he should get help and stop being stubborn about who codes things

This is one if the things that has kept TitsRP going for what will be 10 years next month. The passion of the community.

 

As for hiring an external dev.... I *may* have scared rubik out of ever considering that a couple years back. 

 

Quick condensed story: I was part of a different Gmod community that was the peak of its game mode. As it plateau'd off, the owner (and sole dev) brought in an external dev. Things went well for a while, but soon crashes became frequent. After a couple years, that external dev was permabanned for stealing source code and putting in malicious updates that caused the server to frequently crash. Why did he do it? He used the stolen source code for a server he was trying to start up.

 

External hires. A plague in irl jobs and gaming alike.
