This is a repost of the previous thread which can be found here. I'll go user by user since I will admit, 600 lines of chat logs is a lot. (Though in my defense, I was mostly expecting people to ctrl + f it like I did.)

 

For context (and this is all just a nutshell since I don't think the exact specifics matter), beforehand it was mostly everyone shooting the shit and talking conspiracy theories in OOC. (A whole lot of talk about Epstein's island, the war in Ukraine, etc.) followed by a talk on religion and how the Christians abandoned God because they don't stone the gays anymore, but the Muslims do and so they haven't abandoned God. (I didn't really care, sounded like bullshitting or joking to me.) Then the topic of satanism and Baphomet came up, followed by the topic of masturbators, homosexuals, trans people, and so on. Close to this time, the user Hex (STEAM_0:1:67970096) got namedropped in particular which Hex did not take a liking to. After that, that's when things really started to head up so that's where I start with specifics and going by each user and their offenses. As always, if you want to or have the time to, I have a more thorough chatlog in the original thread, but as I said it came down to over 600 lines.

Upon calming down from the initial "I hate everyone and you all can burn" kind of anger I felt earlier, I will point out that at no point did anyone specifically say not to talk like that anymore. For that reason, and upon more calmly rereading the chatlogs, I have also adjusted the reasonings in the report.

 

The most of anyone asking to drop the topic beforehand was people asking stuff like "what is this topic?" at first, and then eventually showing stark disagreement with the opinions of the others. If you do want them, here are some tiny snippets of people showing disinterest or dislike of the topic being discussed. (EDIT: Oh yeah, almost forgot to mention. Now, I'll start going user by user on rules I feel they have broken or things they have done wrong.

I'll start with gmail. I think that gmail broke these rules: "DO be respectful to everyone LOL OMG", "DO NOT be a dick, we are all here to have fun and play the game", and "DO NOT use racial/homophobic/generally offensive slurs or be overly offensive to other players/staff.". All three kind of tie in together of course.

 

I'll start with the specific lines of him disrespecting trans people, including one case of the word "tranny" which is like the n word or f word for trans people. People are gonna joke around in the same way I've seen people use the n word and f word around these parts and people don't care much about it, and I don't expect that to change, but given the context I think it's relevant as by this point (many hours after the initial debate started) it was quite clear that there are trans people in the server playing.

Outside of those specific instances, gmail kept the controversial topic going for some time, but I don't see specific rules against that. Eventually, I did call a voteban on gmail and it passed, as I figured after things heated up and people were wanting it to stop, that getting rid of gmail would be the quickest way to go about that. That was not the case, as it continued anyways, but I'll get more into that with the next users since at this point gmail was gone from the server.

 

Next, I'll go over Biggie Bear, since he was there from the beginning and was continuing (and engaging) in the topic. Upon review, it was Biggie Bear that actually brought the topic back up in this snippet of text:

However, I don't see any specific rules against continuing a controversial topic. The only thing he did wrong here specifically is continuing a topic that really should have stayed dead. With that being said, I know I got very, very angry at Biggie Bear but upon rereading the chatlogs it became clear to me that he wasn't the one saying a lot of the stuff I thought he was.

 

For that, I owe you an apology Biggie Bear. Most you did was disagree with me which isn't against rules. I don't agree with your opinions, but as far as I can tell you didn't do anything against the rules there. For real though, keep them topics out of OOC, ya fuckin goober.

 

Alright, and finally UwUchan. I did him last as he wasn't apart of the original topic and hopped in the server around the time gmail got votebanned. At this point, I would say that unlike the two users above who were continuing drama that nobody had specifically asked them to drop (hence why I don't think they were breaking any rules), there were multiple people asking for it to be dropped at this point, to no avail. For that reason I think UwUchan was being extremely toxic.

Oh yeah, I do want to clear something up though since this was not clear in how I worded the original. I was going to talk to someone about this all regardless of what anyone said, as I did not feel it was right to be targeting specific people with topics like that.

 

Hex had nothing to do with this report. Hex did ask me to make this report, nor did Hex suggest that this report be made. If anything, I spoke to an admin on duty at the time to ask if they had access to the logs from before they joined the server, and they said no, suggested I export the logs, and report it on the forums instead. That was Insurance Agent who made that suggestion.

 

I was flamed by some people (and someone even flat out said no one cares tranny) for making the report, and on some points, they had some reason to. I wasn't clear enough about that in the start so it looked like I was using a specific person to try getting them banned. I want to be clear though, that despite being more generalized in this report, I do still think Hex was a victim of harassment, and I do still think that's completely wrong and unacceptable. 

 

I think that will show in the snippets I did provide, though.

causing a hour long (at the least) argument in ooc falls under causing drama. that said these logs seem to be near the end but i do recall this argument being active an hour or so prior at least when i was online but it was not as heated as it is above.
just from what we have in logs here it seems to me that he was
A. Causing drama in ooc
B. trying to annoy/harass hex and/or other people who identify as trans as a whole. (the whole not being a dick rule etc.)
C. Toxicity over the slur if that is considered a slur from what i was told when a friend and i almost got warned over calling someone it earlier this year

not really a ton said here other than the train comment and singling out who everyone's talking about, with just what is in this report i would say barely a +1 HOWEVER
UwUchan dragged this shit show into the discord and continued to argue in gen chat along with other users, all upset about having the initial report made and pretty sure i had to tell them to can it. which as far as im concerned is definitely contributing to the drama as was ingame and i feel something should be done since they took it upon themselves to lash out in the discord after a report was made against them.

A. Causing drama - specially when you feel the need to continue it out of spite for the report
B. Toxicity over trannies training comment
C. Player targetting to a light degree, they themselves made it clear they wanted to annoy sylphicxen at the least. and continued to do so by dragging it into discord getting other members such as Cursed and Goatnuts to keep the topic alive.

as for biggie i was wrong to +1 on him in the other post as-well, was mainly due to some other stuff i witnessed after getting back online that occurred at the ass end of what happened above and isn't quite as relevant to the rest of this and he got verbal in-game.

For harassment there needs to be a sit made/report a warning first then a note describing the situation then going from there while this could be severe enough to get to a ban on the first account that should be talked with by all staff members before a final say is given. 

 

Overall the issue at hand I won't comment on as everything I say in terms of speech on the server falls on deaf ears anyways so I won't waste my time and I'll mark this as a +1 for everyone on harassment except for Biggie.

Damn insurance laid it our pretty nice here - It's clear both Gmail and UWU were being instigators - gmail being the worst in this situation. I will mention as others have mentioned in this kinds of situations. You guys should have muted and dropped the subject completely after you made it clear you didn't want to continue. I feel like a LOT of players REFUSE to take this approach because they can't let their ego go. It's a video game - these are people you will never see what they say to you means nothing in the end. (not downplaying their toxicity) Yall have to just step up and move on in these kinds of situations - let them dig their own graves by not responding. Gather that evidence and stay neutral - it puts you in the positive light. I understand you tried multiple times to drop the subject but there were times were you kept responding feeding into their drama. Even if you are just saying something like "i'm just tryna enchant some weapons" giving them any response at all encourages them to keep going @TheRealHex

I appreciate your response. You do certainly have a point to not feed to trolls so to speak, but we're only human and sometimes we get caught up in the drama ourselves.

 

I think I said this in the last thread as well, but I plan to mute gmail and UwUchan at the least since I get the impression this won't be the only time these topics get brought up by those two.

 

With that being said, since I did see it and gather evidence on it, I do think some of the things they said are punishment worthy for breaking rules not only on disrespect and slurs, but as you said instigation.

they were asked to stop in one of the sections in above post, im sure the mute didnt happen. that said one of them got votekicked for spurring on the drama that should have been an obvious cut that shit out moment aswell. but since most of the server can start a votekick no one much cared. also looks like sylph got rating bombed over this
