Was banned for a MRDM after I defended a raid but was unclear on the server rules and was given no warnings

I was banned because I repeatedly killed the house owners and others that I presumed to be running towards the house I was raiding.

Why should you be unwarned/unbanned?

I was unclear of the rules surrounding raids and MRDM and was not given any warnings

I wasn't made clear of the rules that you cannot defend raids because of the new life rule. This in of itself is on me, because I did not read the server rules before playing, however, the day before (my first daying playing) I was raided constantly by people who were prop-blocking, returning immediately to raids after I defended and killed them, and was RDMed running back to my house constantly. All of this confused me because none of them were banned. This leads to today where I defended a raid I was doing by killing the house owner (I now understand this is against the rules). After explaining to the mod who brought me into another room that I was unclear on these rules and it wouldn't happen again, he didn't give me any warnings OR let the person who I RDMed decide if I should get a warning or a ban because he was afk. a WEEK LONG ban seems out of proportion for 4-5 kills that were done out of confusion of the rules.

We should not have to explain to you what NLR is but we normally do just read the MOTD

Make A Sit And If NO Staff Are Responding / No Staff Are On Contact Staff In The Discord OR Use !voteban  / !votekick

If The Player Is AFK It Is The MODS JOB to Choose Punishment

4 to 5 kills. i hope you understand 3+ can be considered MRDM. AND According to the Punishment Guidelines


Mass RDM: Intentional or not can default to a one week ban. Use your best judgement here. (ex: Does not advert PD raid and kills 3+ players)




As Of Now I See NOTHING Wrong With The Punishment Given And As I Stated Before The Ban

Tbh I'm not even sure what happened here, your explanation of the situation leading to the ban doesn't really make much sense.

What do you mean by this? If you are doing a raid, you are allowed to kill the base owner. Was the base owner coming back to the base after you had killed him?

If you didn't call a sit to report them that is why they were not banned or punished. When something like this happens you're gonna have to contact staff so we can handle it, otherwise most likely have no clue its even happening.

While it seems you were definitely in the wrong here, I would be okay with reducing your ban since you are a new player (you only have 7 hours played on our server) and this is your first ban.

It is your responsibility to read the server rules when you join.. so once you're unbanned I would recommend taking a few minutes to read over them so you don't find yourself in a similar situation again.

As staff we should prioritize education over punishment, while Mass RDM (killing 3 or more people without a valid reason) does default to a 1 week ban, I think that in this situation it would be fair to shorten it.
