In todays latest update (05/11) I had to make changes to recoil because of how the x64 branch of gmod modified how eye angles are processed. Without the change, shooting has a very choppy feeling to it.

 

This led to a small rework of recoil and animations and ect but the biggest change was how recoil now looks when fired. Before this change, it was an immediate kick. After this change, its a smoother experience. I have heard mixed things about if people like it or not but getting the old recoil way back is not a big issue.

 

Here are the two side by side. Which one do you like more? What would you change? 

 

The top video is the new recoil while the bottom one is the older recoil. It may not be that easy to decipher in a video but if you try this in game, you should see a difference.

The new kick feels more natural, a lot like rust. What about flinch for when you’re hit? That would be pretty interesting in a gun fight.
