Gent
I don't know why this is even a debate. I've read the MOTD like 100 times and still don't understand how this is what it is but whatever, let me explain Say, you're a cop. You see someone say, getting kidnapped, you cuff them and go to fine them. But, to no surprise you get lit up by their friends. You say "Oh okay, whatever" You go about your day and it happens again. This time, an advert gets put in chat saying "Stay away from my gang/party member" after you're already dead. You say you know what, maybe it was delayed. It happens a THIRD time, this time being when theyre killing someone and you get lit up instantly and an advert gets put up after youre dead again. I'm currently under the impression, to "counter" you must involve yourself. I don't expect everyone to be hesitant and try to speak to you while youre doing something they dont like, but I think at the very least you should give it a second after adverting "hey stop thats my party member". I call a sit and it takes a whole 3 seconds for the mod to go "Yeah he adverted its fine" And returns me instantly. I think these two must be friends because after the sit I PM'd the mod explaining it was after, I even looked at logs and it does match up both times, and once not even being adverted. I got ignored, whatever, but here's me asking should this be okay? I mean, I can't help but bring this SPECIFIC line up to him "DO NOT counter actions before getting involved. For example, asking a cop to uncuff your friend or a raider to stop raiding your friend otherwise you might counter the action" And get ignored again. This is in no way intended to target a player or staff member. If I believed it was demote worthy or report worthy there'd be one up. I am asking a question. 1-800-Suicide
What I usually do is to do a "don't do that or i might counter" 1-3 times before i kill someone, As far as i understand it if it already quite obvious we are related in rp then a bind isn't necessary because all parties know whats gonig on. However if someone is pressing a bind then instantly killing you in my mind thats just adverting counter and not getting involved. Garv
Yea with what piklas was saying if u press ur bind once ur not even warning them it’s like ur adverting that ur selling something, it usually gets left un noticed in chat, but if you press it multiple times then u have the right to kill them you can even go in voice chat and say something under the lines of “hey uncuff my friend or get shot up” and I say it a couple of times Link to comment https://forums.titsrp.com/topic/9798-rule-question/#findComment-67893 Share on other sites
Walter the Assaulter
Those adverts are in no way legitimate. Roleplay is required to "counter" a situation. In fact, if you have to call it a "counter" instead of "role play," the situation should be suspect. People have been warned to stop doing adverts that in no way actually involve you in the situation and do not convey any information to the player actually doing it since it could apply to literally every person on the server. Staff should know this by now, it's been the rules for 8+ months. From the MOTD: Just because you are in a party / gang with somebody doesn't mean you are automatically "involved" with their situations. If you're going to kill someone because they attacked your party / gang member, make sure they know you're together.Using a generic advert without actually telling the person it applies to them is not a valid way of telling that person you are together. They would have no way of knowing. If one person adverts, you can't expect the entire map to stop what they're doing and check to see if it's them Deal with situations using role play. If you aren't role playing together or they have no reason to suspect that you are connected in any way, it makes no RP sense to randomly pull out a gun and shoot them. Examples of a BAD party / gang member Sniping a player from across the map because his party member got muggedAttacking a player because someone just killed their party / gang member when you were no where near by / not visibleExamples of a GOOD party / gang member Running up to the player who killed their party / gang member and telling them they are about to die for killing their memberKilling a cop for cuffing your party / gang member you are role playing with (fishing, mugging, kidnapping players together, etc) In short, if it's not obvious enough that it's necessary to say something in chat, a generic bind is not enough. You have to tell the person through voice, text, or mentioning their name in an advert. You have to let them know, as the motd says to. To make things ez, here's some short quotable rules: "If they have no way of knowing you're connected to this guy, you really aren't." "If you're a bunch of bloods riding a bike and you get off and a cop cuffs you, they're obviously all involved with you." "If you guys are two yoshis fishing side by side and a cop cuffs you, you're obviously involved with each other." "If you're yelling at a cop to drop your friend or you'll shoot, you're obviously involved with him." "Someone seemingly being randomly being shot from across the map makes Walter mad, stop using those fucking adverts." "If you are doing something with the dude, kill the cop. --> If not, tell the cop to stop." 1 Link to comment https://forums.titsrp.com/topic/9798-rule-question/#findComment-67894 Share on other sites

Then it’s exactly how I thought it was lol, in my case they were going in the base already and I get shot from people I can’t even see waiting on a onesided fade for his friend to bring the body in.
