I was automatically banned by the console for injecting a Lua script into the game. I want to be fully transparent about what I was attempting to do: I had been playing as a piano player on the server and wanted to create a script that would allow me to load MIDI files (MIDI files are song files for software that can make music) and have them automatically played in-game. My intent was purely creative — I thought it would add to my roleplay as a musician and make my character more engaging and fun for others on the server. I was not attempting to gain any gameplay advantage, access server data, grief other players, or do anything that would harm the server or its community. I fully understand that injecting scripts is against the rules regardless of intent, and I'm not disputing that the ban was correctly triggered. I should have sought out legitimate in-game tools or asked staff whether something like this was possible through approved means before attempting to build it myself. That was my mistake, and I own it completely. Why should you be unwarned/unbanned? I've been a genuine and active member of the TitsRP community and have played for a long time, and I have no prior warnings and no history of rule-breaking or toxic behavior. I've always tried to be a positive presence — roleplaying in good faith and contributing to the atmosphere that makes DarkRP fun. The script I was building was never deployed in a way that affected other players or the server's economy or balance. It was a personal creative project that, in hindsight, I handled the wrong way. A 6-month ban feels significant given the context, that this was not griefing, cheating, or an attempt to exploit the server. It was a naive and clumsy attempt at creative expression that crossed a line I should have been more careful about. I genuinely enjoy this server and want to keep being part of this community. I'm asking for the staff team to consider either lifting the ban or reducing it in light of my clean record and the non-malicious nature of what I was doing. I won't attempt anything like this again — if I ever want a feature like this in the future, I'll bring it to staff first. Homer Posted June 20 Share Posted June 20 In instances like these injecting anything like that will typically result in a console ban regardless. IF you are unbanned, I think Rubik will likely tell you to remove any files otherwise it will happen again. You can do this by verifying your game files. This is happening because the console is designed to target individuals with any client-side codes not allowed on the server. I understand you only wanted to play music but there isn't necessarily a work around because it is essentially a form of anti-cheat. If you are unbanned you will not be able to use those MIDI files or this will happen again. my best suggestion would be to play the music sheets that are provided with the piano on the server. However unless Rubik receives what you used to in the script I’m gonna be a -1 from Steve.
