January 26th Changelog

Green = what is new in the rule (all green = new rule)
Yellow = context for the addition for community/future staff clarity
Purple = this part of the rule was removed

Total updated/brand new rules: 20 >> 1 rule was removed.

General Rules
Added:
DO NOT Propclimb/Propsurf/Propminge -> These were forgotten to ever be in the rules
DO NOT kill-bait. Baiting people into doing something solely so you can kill them without a roleplay purpose is RDM. This includes bases that are solely designed to kill people for trespassing -> This prevents misinterpretation of jobs like Terrorist/Serial Killer baiting people with fake maxwells / dropped goods to lure people in, as that is RP

Removed:
DO NOT advert PD raid if you're inside of the PD. You must do it outside since you will be committing murder to everyone inside -> Redundant rule, already in Thief/Raiding rules

Cop Rules
Checkpoints may only be placed in district tunnels and must be operated at all times. -> District tunnels = tunnels between 2 districts (spawn tunnel isnt a district) - stops people making checkpoints that are essentially just propblock / have no one inside them

You can not make KOS laws outside of the PD -> This was only ever ruled out because of the players/CP cannot kill eachother rule.

You can add laws that require cops to have permission to enter the Mayor's office or else they are considered hostile -> This allows for mayor's assassin checks without it breaking the rules on cops killing other cops.

You can restrict all areas of the map(besides fountain and in front of PD), but not force people to be there. You can only have a maximum of 2 districts restricted at once. -> You could restrict every single district at once except fountain before this change (essentially a lockdown)

Making lockdowns that do not have a valid RP reason are not allowed. (I.e "It's chaos out there!" “Everyone has guns”, "I feel like it") Lockdowns should only be active during RP events (terror attack, abomination, bank raid etc) -> More definition of what valid lockdowns are for - does not mean non-rp events like propclimb, golden printer etc and is instead RP job based events (abomination, pissed pig, terror attack, pd raid, bank raid).

Random weapon checks (excluding checkpoints) are not permitted unless there is a reasonable suspicion that the person is committing a crime (ex. verbal threats, active bounty, brandishing a weapon, advertising illegal services, etc.) -> Removed active bounty as a list of things that count as committing a crime - Cops should not be arresting people for having a bounty, they should be fining them. It is not AOSable to have a bounty.

Examples of Good Laws
Cops must show arrest baton before entering mayors office or KOS -> Example of something for cops to gain permission
PD is KOS to non-cops -> This feels necessary to add into the good laws as people complain it isn't anywhere and players/cops rule is violated.

Examples of Bad Laws
Groups of 2+ players / loitering is AOS -> Cannot be enforced by staff, much RDA, not RP at all
Having a bounty is AOS -> Bounties should be something you fine for, not arresting.
Lockdown/everyone outside AOS due to coronavirus outbreak / nighttime etc -> People made lockdowns for covid that would never expire bc patient 0 talent
Not having a gun license is AOS even if you don't own any weapons. -> People were stripping gun licenses and arresting people even if they didnt have weapons.

Default illegal activities
Assault/Murder: Killing/attacking a user outside of self defense is illegal and can result in lethal action from police. Kissing is considered assault -> Means you can now self defend against kisses + arrest for them (it was never in rules)

Basing rules:
You may not build a base suspended in the air (sky-base) unless you are the Bob the Builder job. -> This is a new job that is designed to be able to build on the street/in the sky as long as none of his buildings can be used for RP purposes (Revolts etc) - can be made for gambling stands / cool skybases (Like Lahey Trailer Parks deathrun). Means the preacher job is more active in the Church for his job purpose.

Bob the Builder can only public base and his base must be a skybase or a base on the street, not in a building. This job should be used for things such as gambling stands and fun/interactive public bases, using it to actually base is FailRP. Bob the Builder may public base in District 1 without it needing to serve a roleplay purpose. Common sense applies with where you can build. -> Building in spawn tunnel is clearly not allowed and NITRP, building in spots to block peoples bases/disrupt movement is obviously not allowed.

The Bob the Builder rules will most likely be moved elsewhere when the job is moved into a different category - they will probably change as they were rushed but i believe this rule is fine personally.

Public bases should try to avoid interference with PvP mechanics (one-ways for combat purposes/nocollided walls to hide behind/forcing people to crouch in a zigzag to counter revolts/bounties/hits etc is not allowed). -> People were abusing one-ways or really long crouch zigzags to enter their public base to be able to counter revolts / kill bounty hunters etc, this is obviously not the intended purpose of a PUBLIC base.

Kidnapper Rules

Removed:
The Preacher can skybase -> This is on Bob the Builder job now

Terrorist Rules

Terrorists can NOT commit terror attacks in buildings, underground, on rooftops, in the ocean or on the islands in the ocean. -> This now means that Terrorist job can commit terror attacks whilst on a rooftop! (The rooftop part is removed). New players on Terrorist would start attacks on a rooftop with a sniper and be forced to get down and instantly die, Terrorists irl use rooftops etc, not being allowed on a rooftop is just silly as in suburbs area the roofs are very low and it may provide more fun on the job.

If you are in an active Terror attack while in an off-limits area, do not attack anyone unless in self-defense, and head to the closest area allowed for terrorism. You will not be in trouble if you follow this rule. -> This rule is no longer just when the attack starts, and instead allows for rotations around the map on Terrorist job during the attack.]

Miscellaneous Rules
Gameplay tips should be treated as a mix of both tips/advice for the class and rules on how a job should be played. Obvious rule-related gameplay tips should be treated as rulesets for that class. (ex. Batman should not kill the people doing crimes) -> Common sense rule, felt like it should just be added for clarity.
