Why were you banned or warned?

I was banned for "exploiting" using a gap in the windows on a house that has been around for multiple years and has been reported multiple times. Having being in sits prior about this gap and not being banned or warned i wonder why now when a 4 man group attempts a raid and fails is now pressed about it and almost spends 30 minutes trying to get me banned.

Why should you be unwarned/unbanned?

I feel that the length of the ban is unjustifiable at the end I don't mind being banned what i want is it to be shortened and the map to be fixed so other players that encounter this "exploit" don't get a 2 month ban for this. If the former ban is accounted for increasing the length that ban on the forum was appealed. That ban is false and unjust right before showing a person on why they need to fix something so they dont get exploited i had a mod come by i told him to come here and showed the mod the exploit asking if he could fix it. He then brought me into a sit and banned me for exploiting and sharing exploits. I also feel the evidence used saying i admit to it being a exploit is out of context as that wasnt a direct admission i was talking to someone in which multiple times in the conversation stated that i dont think its a exploit as its been used for years with no consequences. Never once did i unjokingly commit behind saying yes this is a exploit directly.

You abused a bug for your own benefit during a raid they can't shoot you back but you can shoot them explain to me how that's fair

they can shoot back it is not a direct one way total abuse it is no different then a prop gap its just in the map already

Also notably the map itself published to the server has a fix for the RIGHT window only. (in the server the right window cannot be fired through were as the left can this cannot be said for the downloaded map). For some reason just the right window and not both. I am not sure as to why this is but i thought i might as well mention it in hopes of getting this fixed as this seems to have at the very least attempted in the past.

No one in a raid has time to shoot through a small 1x1 crack in the window dawg windows definitely not supposed to be like that

that is entirely fair and agree on that it is very hard to kill someone using it however it has happened and is quite simple standing further away. I will note the content of the sit is unknown to me as the sit with Daniel and his friends 2 of which were not in either raids forgot to mention in the post but were still there in the sit spent that time talking to a mod. I have no idea what he told or shown the mod and trying to bring in the owner of the dupe used and person who originally showed me this was completely denied by the mod. While i am not sure on any rules to sits, bans, etc. I feel that is unfair and i should've been there to dispel anything and also to know what to clip.

not a bug its part of the map and im pretty sure a lot of admins before u knew about it.

so  the rule is if you dont have time to shoot back its not allowed? not how the rules are set up and lots of base dupes have small shoot holes where u can be shot back. this one is only different because its in the map.

 

I don't see how even if this is considered malicious exploiting is a 2 month ban when the thing that was affected was 1 raid. people get verbal warned for blowing up all their entities when they are about to lose a raid which means it cant be re-attempted but losing 1 raid to this is a 2 month ban?

 

if the maps problems being used either intentionally or not for an advantage way more people would be banned for 2 months for shooting beyond the black borders between districts. But that is obviously ridiculous and so is this ban

 

here is the gap i imagine the guy was using. obvious fix if this is considered an exploit spot is to place an invisible perma prop not to ban the guy for 2 months and do nothing about the map having problems. This is far from being able to see inside peoples bases by jumping above them in the old map and also lets not forget that the pro raider team can very easily avoid the narrow field of view this gap forces the defender into (which is why those types of gaps aren't popular in base dupes using props)

yep exactly the gap i was using and the gap on the window towards the bottom aswell. It seems they tried to fix it as the right window is patched and isnt on other servers that didnt even know about it. I feel that i understand to a degree the ban but basing a 2 month on a ban from 3 years ago which was somewhat considered by those i talked to be somewhat unfair. The gap is replicable with 2 props and a pixel gap is not bannable. The basis on this is a out of context clip in which i was talking about the possibility of being brought into a sit over this were countless times i mentioned unknowing if it was considered a exploit. I have not seen the clip in which i apparently said i was full knowing and abusing a exploit. I dont doubt the legitimacy of the clip but context is key here. If i did say it i was probably flustered after being raided multiple times and essentially threatened with a ban while multiple people stood around me. As pure cope i went to other servers and displayed the bug to mods (similar to what i and others did years ago those included being snake eyes on titsrp) those mods shared the same idea that its a easy fix and that a 2 month ban for exploiting is far extreme. This includes a Senior Moderator on Smokes RP. And while i am aware of this being completely null as rulesets are different i feel it should be taken into account when viewing this.

how is this a ban? hes using part of the map? what exactly is he exploiting? this has been on the server since the map change and has been known for literal years. as piklas has said you can quite literally recreate this exact gap with props and its not considered an exploit because they can ''shoot back'', this being the exact same thing also allows them to ''shoot back''. from the way the appeal is written he reported the exploit to a mod and was banned for it? how is this in any way at all incentivising players to be more forward when they find a bug/exploit/flaw in map design instead of just hiding it since if its reported its considered ''sharing an exploit'' and results in a 2month ban?

if i use a pickup box through the invisible suburbs wall, that is technically exploiting the map since its not intended that stuff can go through those walls as rubik has said himself those walls are to be treated as normal walls, can i please have everyone who blows up my props or pickup boxes my entities through that wall banned for exploiting the map?
flashbangs LOS going through walls is using a feature in an unintended manner (flashes arent meant to go through walls) and gives a way bigger advantage, yet no one has been banned for it




this pixel gap is literally so easy to walk past it cannot have given anywhere near enough of an advantage to disregard the reporting of the exploit and to also give a 2 month ban for exploiting. Was the staff member the user who raided this individual or friends with the people who raided and could that be leaning into the severity of the punishment completely going against everything in the punishment guidelines around exploiting?

also a curious member of the community who is known to exploit/bugfind who is now concerned for his safety on the server when reporting REAL exploits and not map design issues

Unfortunately i feel there was some foul play between the mod and the party involved speaking of which was NOOB BASERS and the Mod Minato. As a returning player non of these names ring any bells so if you see this and recognize a relationship to any degree between the 2. As after all right after the first raid he went into a sit for 20 minutes without me being pulled about a sit about me. As well as the mod not allowing any possible advancements on my defense.
