I think I should've waited a little longer before replying to this app, waiting for more contexts would've been a good idea and I'd like to apologize for not doing that. One thing I noticed in your appeal is the length. You seem to have taken the time to write this appeal and I can only respect that. In addition to what Ironfish1 said, you do seem apologetic. That shows me that you already understand that this server does not tolerate comments like that! Just because you’re behind a monitor does not mean your words do not have consequences. BrokenDown Posted October 12, 2023 Share Posted October 12, 2023 So with name calling in this case you called someone a "Pedophile", it can actually hurt people if they have experienced trauma in there life or people will also start calling them that and cause them to leave the server. Some people are thick skinned but not everyone so we have the rules to prevent people from being reminded of what happened. I'm not saying that people on the server have but some could have. There are certain words that we don't like to see and that is a major one. Also with your previous history, in the link Yahya posted, you have had previous history with name calling. Ironfish1 Posted October 12, 2023 Share Posted October 12, 2023 (edited) While I do agree with my fellow staff members here, I do have a bit more context seeing as I was the one to take the sit, and issue the ban. The biggest thing here is you immediately knew you messed up, and you were so genuinely sincere in your apologies that I thought it was sarcastic. I've never seen someone so apologetic for making a mess-up on a garrys mod server. You told me that you are just returning to gaming and you grew up in the halo and cod shit talk era where that was normal and you're still getting the hang of what is and isn't allowed. Every staff member is still correct though, those accusations have no place in this server since it can cause an absurd amount of drama. I would like to also believe that you being apologetic and remorseful for your actions was sincere since you were attempting to right your wrongs as soon as I pulled you, long before you knew what your punishment was going to be. I am a +1 for an early unban/reduction to two weeks, if this does get accepted and you make another slip up within a month of your unban, it will be a one year ban due to our guidelines.
