Warn for "RDM"

This warn was several months ago(4 to be exact) but Ive just realized its utter bullshit.

Why were you warned/banned?:Warned for "RDM" For KOS'ing sewer lord one time

Why should you be unwarned/unbanned?:Well after speaking to multiple staff/users, everyone I have asked believes that sewer lord is KOS on sight, regardless of if he is charging at you or not.This is what I have been lead to believe ever since the job was added.According to the Rules, and Rule change log, there has never been a rule or rule change about killing him, which means that using common sense, if I see the sewer lord im going to immediately perceive him as a threat, considering his only job is to kill people in the sewers, and nothing more.Regardless of if he is coming at me or not, Im perceiving him as a threat, and I think everyone does.I should not have been warned because even if you go beyond technical rules and such, I had been led to believe that he was KOS on sight, as many others have been too, and even after not having a warn for 4 years(My last warn before this was 2016) the warning staff (Herb) should have at least been a little more understanding, Its not like I mass "RDM'ed" him, I killed him one time.This has been a very confusing topic and I feel like my warn should be removed.I also feel like that this specific topic/rule should be highly addressed and set clearly in stone, so no one else has any confusion.

So from what I recollect, you recieved the warn for having a shitty attitude on discord and on the report which got you the warn. You and multiple other users decided to repeatedly kill the sewer lord when he respawned or was nearby, even if he didn't attack you at all. 3 other users were included in the report and were also punished.

for me to accept this, i would need to go and un-warn all the other people too, and as stated above, we didn't expressly allow you to just murder him for existing up until recently.

For one, of course i had a bad attitude, someone threatened me with a Mass RDM ban when I only got 1 kill, like seriously? lmao, and on the forums as well.And I was being warned for something that I was not fully aware of, and had been told by STAFF themselves that was how it was.

Also, in response to both, their has never actually been a written rule, which means that cant be considered RDM.I saw the sewer lord and since his legit ONLY  job function,even stated in the Rules, is to kill people in the sewers. I felt threatened, moving or not, because I knew he was going to.

 

Regardless of what you consider it, I have not had a warning since 2016, and I have tried to keep my record clean since then, and when Im being threatened with a "Mass RDM" ban for ONE single kill, and then a warning for something that I legit believed was the rule, yes, of course Im going to get very frustrated.Cant expect me to not act like a human. I mean, I do apologize for acting irritated, but that should not have negated when I legitimately did not fully understand the "Rule" and was genuinely confused as to why I was being reported for RDM.

Not to mention, I was essentially part of being targeted by him, because in his original report, he did not even report the guy who killed him the most (3-4 kills, aka "mass RDM") which according to Herb, did end up getting banned, but he only cared about me and the two others, not even the dude legit mass RDMing him.So that contributed to my irritation as well, as im sure it would most people.Regardless, I already apologized back then, I didn't understand the "rule" properly and it was pretty clear I didn't intentionally try and break a rule I didn't even know existed or fully understand.I hope you understand my frustration.

I understand where you are coming from but at the time we already had this entire discussion, and the punishment was handed out and left at that. Why are you bringing this up to be appealed now? 

One of the Main points of 'it wasn't in MOTD' applies both ways. It wasn't stated you can kill them, and it wasn't stated that you can't kill them. However common sense would dictate that if its not mentioned you can KOS, then you can't KOS. I appreciate you've kept your record clean but we don't decide to hand out warns based on if you're normally good or not, we hand them out based on multiple factors, and between you being hostile in the report thread and on discord afterwards the formal warn was given. The other people involved were newer than you, but still recieved a punishment too. 

 

I just don't see a reason I should accept this appeal, especially when it's valid and the others have recieved and served their punishment for their role. I feel it would be favoritism to accept this simply because you were normally within the rules.

After discussing this with the admins I realized that at the time of this warn, KOSing Sewer Lord was not allowed which means this warn is valid. Now, if you wanted to have this warn removed, that would be possible but simply as a courtesy of the staff member. After it was brought to our attention some of the vulgar / racist comments you made in chat this morning before the server reset, that courtesy has gone out the window. I'm going to deny this appeal at this time. If you'd like to apologize to the staff team for your comments in OOC you may have a better chance of appealing next time.
