That law specifies not to attack someone, it is not the gun law. The act of having a gun does not inherently mean the owner intends to attack someone with it. I can see how pulling the gun out and pointing it at someone could have been alarming if there was seemingly no reason to do so, but it seems you were not even close enough to know what that reason was to give you probable cause to intervene and take action. Your description makes it seem as though you murdered them as soon as you saw the gun. While potentially succeeding in protecting some people, although you will never know since you never investigated, you also failed to protect this person, which is still a part of the public that you are meant to serve and protect even if they committed a crime. Fortunately, this is now being considered an RP issue that can be solved in context without Staff interference, as the rules will be changing soon, but unfortunately not everyone knows that yet and the old rules are still enforceable by the Staff Members who don't yet know as the new rules are not publicly available yet and the old ones are still live. For example, if the offender failed to read the rules. If on purpose but had a false reason than up to a warning can be given, we all make mistakes. It does not seem that the banned subject had any intention to falsely kill anyone and simply thought they were roleplaying correctly when they were not, in which case the Staff Member should have explained what they did was wrong, why it was wrong, and how to avoid it in the future, before warning and returning them, NOT banning them for an intention that they did not have, after yelling and cursing at them for something they did not yet understand.
