Why were you banned?: Prop-Locking

Why should you be unbanned?:I was not aware it was against the rules as I am new to the server and had seen people doing it earlier that day. Also, I had no warning.

I understand that, but I just joined the server for the first time yesterday, and was not aware that it was against the rules. Also, I had no warning about it, and only found out that prop locking was against the rules once I had been banned.

The server I normally go on is pretty relaxed on the rules. I came here to play with a friend.

Yes, I meant prop blocking. I was blocking a door when an admin jailed me and asked why I was doing it. I apologized, and offered to remove it when I got released, but he banned me without warning. I don't remember his name, but it happened tonight.

the time was 9-9:30 4/2/17 if you would scroll through the log for bans, pretty sure there were only 2 bans at that time period, oh and when this happened BuddyBoy made his name Bad Mayor

The MOTD pops up for every single player upon join and can be accessed at any time by doing !motd

Under general rules, it specifically specifies

 

DO NOT Propblock

I hate when people use the excuse, 

 

"I saw other players doing it, so why can't I."

 

First off, that just stating you are a minge because you didn't even attempted to read the rules.  You are just going by what other players do.

If you see someone breaking x rule then report it to staff or even ask staff if x is allowed.

If staff aren't responding or not available, then you come here and report the player.

Takes less than 5 minutes, if you have proper evidence to support your claim.

 

Now, I am going to go over the staff member not warning you and going straight to a ban offense.

That is like saying,

 "Why do some staff members ban for an hour for Intentional RDM?"

 

If a staff member is like me that warns for all there first offense that are not extreme, such as RDM, RDA,  very sorry about doing something wrong because a  lack of knowledge on how something works.  The probability of them repeating that offense or a different offense is very likely.  When a staff member most likely uses a ban punishment, two things happen:

• The server as a whole got rid of a minge for x amount of time, which is making the server a lot better to play on.
  
• The player that got banned has time to chill and go over the rules to make sure he is not going to break the rules in the future.

Now going back to your situation.  You were playing on the server, someone either reported you or a staff member caught you, you stated, "I saw other people do it, so why can't I." or "I am unaware that this was a rule."  To me, that is already stating your a minge.  This goes back to what I wrote at the top.

 

Now this is what I believe is going to happen.  I don't think an unban is going to happen, but  I will suggest a shortened to the ban.  

If you can manage to convince the other staff members to give you +1, I will shorten the ban.
