Perma banned misunderstood event

As you can see, we do in fact perma people for exploiting. Staff who care enough to disagree, I invite you to join the server's TS and hop into my temporary room, password is TK

 

They gave away a total of $3000 in possible donations, that's a lot different than using broken textures to raid. It all depends and the severity of the exploit.

 

Exploiting to look through walls is a bit different from getting behind a base through unintended map design, who would of thought.

 

In the same vein, you're telling me that we're allowed to break out games and allow ourselves to look through walls Glaze? 1w is no time at all, not to mention mass rdm is noticeable. But this crap isn't in logs, you can't see "player.IO peered through a wall because he has CS:S disable" you're not going to get caught doing it.

 

So until Grxm decided to actually post vids or screen shots proving his innocence, nothing is going to happen here in his aid.

Can we bring in the fact that it's just Garry's mod and not life.  I don't understand why tyrant is writing monster essays over a little exploit.   I agreed with president, that the fact that he decided to write a ban appeal shows he should at least have lower time or a unbanned.  

 

I honestly don't want to keep seeing this thread bump until either sugar or Gazooks takes a look at this.  Please stop bumping this thread.

Screenshots all prove looking into the back room is possible, if props blocking the windows are invisible. On top of that, he claims the entities were in the front room. I'm not sure why this is such a big shit storm, beyond the fact that you, Tyrant, need you accept when you made a mistake. One of the biggest parts of being staff, or even being alive, is making a mistake and learning from it. Instead you attempt to do damage control, spout insults, and just ignore some people providing proof as I did. Not only are you being incredibly rude to OP, but you are being disrespectful to your fellow moderators! You literally permbanned this man, the first person on the server to be permbanned for hacks that was not given by cake, as a moderator, and refuse to unban him even after proof is shoved down your throat explaining in which ways you are incorrect.

I have yet to insult anyone. I have been insulted time and time again on the other hand, besides, based on what I've already discussed with others already I know how this one plays out.

 

On top of that, I find it rude you to tell me how to be a staff member when I have been here long enough to know what I'm doing. Now let the Owners take care of this, at this rate I could just convince someone to lock the thread as it's becoming more and more of a "He said, she said" which is when threads get locked.

 

 Not to mention the door is open in my screen shots as benefit of the doubt and I did specifically say at the start of all of this that he counted the amount of entities in the back room.

 

Also, playing "Damage Control" isn't what I'm doing, I'm using the easiest trick in our books to speed up the process.

 

 

Grxm needs to provide proof from that day that nothing shady was going on. Without proof, my word as the staff who gave the ban and was there is stronger than his. Nobody else should respond, unless Grxm is posting his proof.

Tyrant, just accept the fact that this guy should be unbanned. You have a majority against you. Your words are just as effective as his, and his are (to be honest) useless. I don't want to lock the thread, contrary to popular belief. Grxm is staying adamantly this discussion, and I respect him for that. He has no valid evidence, but neither does anyone else here. Grxm's persistance to be unbanned shows he learned from his mistake and he wants to just play the server.

This. It's a game. Unbanning this guy won't ruin anyone's reputation, but continuing this childish style of argument will.

Giving people chances is a must. We as staff aren't just heartless machines made to ban and never hear the other side. If it were mass RDM, then I feel they shouldn't get a chance. However Grxm hurt nobody and affected no one except your feelings. Not everyone deserves to get kicked back into the pit.

I did talk to Tryant about this yesterday for around 20 minutes and I agreed that he should be unbanned. Tryrant said that he was malicious and that this should mark that we don't allow people to exploit. I disagreed and said that seeing through walls is 100% possible due to errors that your client can get in game. It happens a lot more often than you think. Also I was told that this ban is 5 months old which I explained to Tyrant that even people who have been perma banned after x amount of time are usually allowed back if they want to play.

 

If I can't physically remember your ban reason or why you were perma banned then so be it, come back and just don't be an idiot. This is a garry's mod server and not some really strict community that follows everything to a tee. We are just a laid back community that plays games.

 

While I did tell Tryrant that I wasn't going to butt in and unban people who he banned because it's not any part of my business, there are a lot of people against him and giving him a chance can't really hurt in any way. If he does have walls then at some point he will be found out and banned.
