verbal warning for Ptox appeal

I also just wanted to say that had i known that this would count towards Ptox, i wouldnt have said it. If i had any indication that this would violate any rule pertaining to Ptox, I wouldnt have done it, and in fact i've only had indication towards the opposite, that this would be tolerated since it resides on the same parelell as several other examples of this kind of thing happening constantly with no action being taken, and in fact me personally being told that its permissible to say such things.

again that is irrelevant because this is an english server, a symbol, and specifically this symbol, is universal across all languages.

Although I just spoke in-game with you about this and understood the meaning behind the symbol you used (not the WWII one typically referenced), I'm going to need to stand on the side of not removing this verbal. You did not mention the context in which you used it to me. Saying in /anon "everyone type (symbol) then immediately typing it yourself in ooc shows that you weren't trying to use it in the sense that you're playing the Buddhist symbol to be. It shows that you were trying to use it for it's shock factor.

I get you've got a history of p-tox punishments and you don't want to have to be "on the fence" in terms of in-game moderation, but these are the prices you pay when you play like you have. P-Tox punishments are incredibly easy to avoid, so having two on your account shows  you're, more or less, fishing for them. Just avoid saying or doing anything that would clearly be seen as controversial or problematic.

my "history of Ptox warns" span to yesterday, before that i havent gotten a single warn for Ptox. Is it shock factor to say "everyone say nigga in ooc"? obviously some people find that word offensive but somehow this is different? The first one wasnt even for anything i said, it was for not leaving someone alone after i was told to. I'm not fishing for warns, if i was i would have a lot more that arent from years ago. I was under the impression that this is what i was doing, literally yesterday i saw a Nazi public build that wasnt addressed during the time that i was on for what i recall hours. Also ive been told several times that staff cant act unless someone makes a ticket, I highly doubt in my case a ticket was made, tali likely just pulled me to a sit of their own prerogative.

I also wanted to add that i think its a little absurd if my appeal turns this into a actual warn instead of a verbal warning. If i had known that appealing my punishment would result in it being elevated I would have avoided that also. For what its worth i apologize for what i did and if i knew that it would have resulted in violating the rules regarding Ptox, I wouldnt have done it. If i had any indication towards knowing this would violate Ptox rules, and not the opposite which has been my experience. If the situation would have really been different if i had put "support the Buddhists by typing this symbol in ooc" that feels a little ridiculous to me.

This is correct until it comes to player tox. Ex: someone spams hard R in chat, someone puts a swastika in chat, etc..

The 'Buddhist Swastika' that you are referring to is mainly only well known in Asian countries, in the western world its still mostly seen as a symbol of hate, regardless of the 45 degree angle it is rotated on. The Buddhist swastika can face in either direction, that being said, you are doing this one a server that has a blanket ruling for anything to do with Nazi symbolism. 

 

You typing that in Anon to immediately followup to type in OOC was for what reason? You are going to have to take the Verbal and learn from it, this is not a good hill to die on.

Listen Gumbowl i have seen you on the server alot and like you as a player, never had any bad interactions with you or anything. However you have been on the server for a long and you should have that common sense that symbols like that are instantly flagged as the nazi symbol. We allow alot of shit on this server that is pretty weird and toxic but we do have things that do cross the line. This being one of them makes it a clear rule break in whatever way you must have meant it. I would normally gigamute/warn/ban for stuff like this, but considering that you a player with a good rep im happy that you didnt get banned for it.
Please in the future make sure you dont do stuff like this again because even if you mean it in a good way we will always hold certain things a different way.
