ChefSoda
35 minutes ago, Blue. said: So I've gotten confirmation by rubik the intentions of the rule, which is as I was explaining - This ultimately comes down to a misinterpretation from both staff and players about the wording of this rule. I would be +1 to clarify more specifically what is and isnt allowed with this ruling. In the end the player DID failbase by having multiple layers, however that does not seem to be the focus point for some reason, despite that being an actual thing. I do thing a warn for the multi-layering is fair, so in the end there is no reason to remove the warn, since a warn for failbasing is still applicable. Chefsoda has 2 prior base related offenses of recent, which is why im -1 for warn removal. That's 100% fair. Quite frankly I think this should've been brought up to me when I was initially checking for compliance, and when Steve gave me the verbal he made no mention that having a second story being illegal as the initial warn I am appealing was because the base supposedly violated the provision that we have been debating. I am willing to accept the warn even though this case has proven to be bewildering to all parties involved, with the exception of Delta who was intentionally pettyfogging and nitpicking to find any reason whatsoever to get me punished for beating him in a 1v1. 1 Link to comment https://forums.titsrp.com/topic/24520-failbase-warn-appeal/page/3/#findComment-173059 Share on other sites
Dildozer
I’m not sure why this isn’t being mentioned but when a player asks for a staff to check their base so they don’t get in trouble and a staff then agrees and checks the base, that takes all liability off the player and puts it on the staff team if they were wrong. He’s gotten basing warns in the past and decided to do the right thing by having staff check it this time to avoid a warn, got approval from staff, then still got warned. That seems unfair and unjustified honestly. I don’t understand what purpose a warn serves in this scenario. The guy had no ill intentions and tried to go about it the right way. I don’t support punishing that. +1 for warn removal due to staff approving his base. It’s unfair to punish him for a staff members mistake Edited January 25 by Dildozer 1 1 Link to comment https://forums.titsrp.com/topic/24520-failbase-warn-appeal/page/3/#findComment-173065 Share on other sites

Miami mint vape
asking staff to check a base doesn’t automatically remove responsibility from the player. Staff checking the base isnt meant to be a full guarantee that something is 100% within the rules they are just there to help catch obvious issues. all and all the player is still responsible for making sure their base follows the rules. If staff missed something during the check, too bad , but the base still ended up breaking the rules. Warnings aren’t only about intent most of the time they are about the result. If we start removing warns any time staff approved something first, it sets a bad precedent and makes rule enforcement inconsistent. while still enforcing the rules fairly across the board. Miami mint vape
best example if a guy ask a cop if his car is street legal and the cop says yeah. then he drives it around and gets pulled over and fined for the vehicle who is in the wrong there? obviously he gets punished no matter what the cop had said to him before. This situation lowkey stemmed from misinterpretation/not knowing something was or wasn't allowed, on all sides all around the board tbf Link to comment https://forums.titsrp.com/topic/24520-failbase-warn-appeal/page/3/#findComment-173109 Share on other sites
Miami mint vape
so just cus both don't know a rule makes it null and unable to be punished? Link to comment https://forums.titsrp.com/topic/24520-failbase-warn-appeal/page/3/#findComment-173110 Share on other sites

Dawg you really about to make me start citing legal precedent for you? Look up entrapment by estoppel. No but it makes it understandable for more lenience, he had his base checked and a staff member didn't notice the issue, so they thought it was fine Link to comment https://forums.titsrp.com/topic/24520-failbase-warn-appeal/page/3/#findComment-173113 Share on other sites
