Voteban Abuse + MRDM

[Myrtle]

Your In-Game Name:

Myrtle

Your Steam ID:

STEAM_0:0:62664535

Who are you reporting?:

bobaboiii STEAM_0:0:111067261

Why are you reporting this player?:

Player was RDMing and while I let it slide for a while he eventually shot me in which I killed him once and then later killed me and at least 3 other players for absolutely no reason. I proceeded to call a voteban since there was no staff on. The vote fell through and he did a retaliatory voteban for the reason "false ban" which succeeded. I have the clip of most of the situation and will provide below.

Do you have evidence related to this incident?:

Yes

Relevant Info:

Edit: Additional supporting evidence from a minute prior to second clip.

Player damage logs which include the first time I killed him when he randomly shot me and everything a bit before that and between me being banned. Can get more if need be.

the logs help out quite a bit and the video is extremely clear, it really just looks like he's rdming random people and from the looks of it he seemed to not care.

He banned you for the reason "false voteban" which is an invalid reason to ban someone as stated many times. Judging from his playtime on the server he most likely didn't know about the "false voteban" reason being invalid so if anything, I think they could get a talking to there.

However bobaboiii should know what RDM is since they have a verbal for it and the video clearly just shows them intentionally picking off random people so for that I'll just be +1 for a 1w ban for MRDM for now unless bobaboiii can provide good reasoning or evidence as to why they were doing that when no staff were online.

Changed my vote - see below

[Blacnova]

This behavior is a little weird from Bobe imo considering he just was banned. He seemed to really want to be unbanned yesterday, so it's a little shocking to me that his first action would've been to rejoin and MRDM.

From the clips you provided I can't really see a justifiable reason for Bobe's actions. I see him type out in chat after you start the voteban on him, "Is non human law active?", and the mayor also broadcasted a message saying to target all species that aren't human. I'd assume that this would be his explanation for MRDMing, but it still wouldn't really explain why he was killing you, a citizen. KOS laws aren't allowed, and if he's new to the server it'd be understandable that he didn't know that he shouldn't be following that law. This would explain why he's attacking a Chucky, necromancer, Mr. Bones, and cultist, as they all look like non-human jobs. However, it seems as though he was attacking you without any logical reason, and you were most certainly on a human job.

In addition, as Henchy said, revenge votebanning/kicking as well as attempting multiple times is not allowed. Given the user is new, this mistake can be forgiven, but should still be explained to him to prevent further incidents.

Neutral but leaning towards a +1 for 1w ban for MRDM if @bobe doesn't have a good explanation.

[bobe]

I am sorry I didn't know false ban was not a punishment, when i did that yesterday it was because i thought Myrtle was doing it in retaliation for me killing him. I don't remember exactly what happened, but I do remember that myrtle did a ban vote on me for rdm that was denied. I then put a false rdm report ban request on him because i didn't want to be banned. I also remember I stopped after I was informed it wasn't allowed to do KOS laws. I did not randomly shoot myrtle at any time, any time I was shooting was to respond to shoots fired or attacking non humans. Yesterday was very chaotic and if you ask others who were present they can vouch for this.

In his first clip where he kills me, you can people shooting off the tower which I was likely returning fire to. The following attached clip shows me killing Myrtle and then Mr Bones who was non human and that was likely due to misunderstanding due to the law, which i asked about in chat. I had oneshot myrtle on accident to which honestly I might have apologized in chat. All of last night was filled with crazy stuff and this happened at 4am again. Please do not give me a ban for a misunderstanding during a chaotic incident.

I was not picking off random people and infact whenever i did kill someone accidentally who wasn't part of it I apologized. I apologize for the voteban, I really hated doing that; but I didn't want to be false banned later on if he tried again and I won't do so in the future. If there was anyone on else yesterday though you can ask I was going very far out of my to not RDM including getting murdered dozens of times before these events.

This was at 4am last night and I don't fully remeber what happened, but if you ask others who were present I think they would do the same when they voted to not have me banned for rdm. It was a 20-0 vote and it was after the course of these events.

When looking at these logs of the first kill attempt on Myrtle, he was clearly still trying to hit Spawnling even despite the fact that Myrtle began shooting at him after bobe's initial "crossfire". Regarding his RDM of the random non-human players, I can excuse this on the account that from the clips provided it is very clear that this was a server-wide thing going on with the mayor as well as many other players RDMing non-human jobs. He should be educated on not following failrp laws made by a mayor, but it's still really the mayor who's at fault in a scenario like this as bobe is new.

However, his RDM of Myrtle in the second clip is clear-cut RDM and bobe admitted as much to me in the discord. He claimed that the reason for killing Myrtle was that he thought he was an "active shooter" and that it was an "honest accident".  Given this situation I'd say I'd support a +1 for warning bobe for RDM, as well as removal of ban from Myrtle's record. I'd say bobe should be educated on when he can and cannot voteban, but I believe he's already been made aware through this post.

It may be lenient or naive of me, but I believe bobe is being genuine about this being an error/crossfire.

Thank you for the write up, I would like to add that my reasoning for the second time was that I have bad aim and the sniper shakes

I appreciate your reasoning, and I have also spoken to you on discord and it does look like you had a misunderstanding. I believe Blacnova summed it up pretty well here.

You are still pretty new and you have that past verbal so for this situation I will change my vote +1 for a warn for RDM since the reasoning you provided was good and understandable and as the for the education part on how vote ban reasonings should work, I have already explained it on discord and boba has listened well.

After reading your responses to both Henchy and Blac, I understand you are new and staff aren't always on, in future do not follow KOS laws outside of pd (only enforce if you are are cop role) as they are fail laws. When it comes to vote kicking and banning you've already been given input on that so I won't beat a dead horse.

You seem like a decent guy so I'm with Henchy on the +1 for an RDM warn

Please don't abuse the voting system, if in doubt always kick first before trying to do a voteban (if no staff are on and it is for a valid reason)
