the critique is that the current staff team isn't following the guidelines and common sense that has been in place years before you, which led to a less than 2 minute sit where the staff member looked at a kill log, didnt say a word in the sit then banned me. In many other iterations of the staff team that would have been an instant strike/demotion

You're completely right, there wasn't a ton of due diligence that took place during that sit.

 

So good news! I took it upon myself personally to interview each and every person involved.

 

Here are the testimonials from every person listed in those logs.

2 out of 4 people you interviewed said they didn't care and one of them threw a grenade into the group before me which initiated me shooting as well (harold)

Cr0w has a history of just walking into  my sbc cannons then reporting for rdm. (I have clips of this)
I was not contacted about my side still btw (part of the moderation guidelines) where you could have learned all of this. 

Also taking "testimonials" about what happened is just getting witnesses.

I already asked for your side, to which you responded "Conjecture".

 

The ticket was made (By accounts from both Dexter7 and JgPapi) for MRDM. That is what you were investigated for. 3+ parties were not willing participants. 

 

Despite being a long time player, you seem adamant that propblocking spawn and MRDMing with an Sbc cannon are both completely fine.

There are logs for this, he wouldve taken those sits if they were real.

The diligence is asking leading questions to people who didn't report ingame (theres no downside for them to lie now) and not asking me anything on discord. If real diligence was done then harold (a person you interviewed) would be banned for the same exact reason i am.

There's a lot a good points here, and I agree with what Kilobyte said about us not being the "fun police". Personally, the way I conduct RDM and MRDM sits if the person who is being reported wants to play on the server and killed some people on accident or they were having fun with their friends or simply just messing around then I'll just have a chat with the person reported and the reporter and try to solve it in game rather than immediately banning them. for example, if a new player MRDMs and they weren't aware of rules or how to properly play the game I will spend 10-20 minutes if I have to in the sit just explaining how the server functions to them and let them off with a verbal. This is a game after all so we are all here to play and enjoy the server. You can also end your sits without handing out any punishments at all if both sides are happy and the problem is resolved.

 

one thing to note is that a good number of players (typically new players) don't know how to make a report by using @

We don't take testimonials from players for other players for sits for a multitude of reasons some of which include lying, bias, and forgetting the situation. This is why we typically do not bring players who witnessed a situation to a sit as it muddies the waters.  

 

I reached out to Piklas on discord to get his perspective on the situation and he showed me a clip of Harold throwing a grenade into a crowd of people. This grenade damaged Piklas for 50 health and Piklas then shot back with the SBC cannon he had out at the time killing a couple of people in the process. This case looks a lot less of MRDM on purpose and self defense with maybe a couple accidental RDMs. Personally I do not see a reason for this to be a week ban or even extended.
