Why were you banned or warned?

I was warned for countering a raid.

Why should you be unwarned/unbanned?

I believe that from a previous experience I was involved in that I was not breaking the rules.

Who warned/banned you?

Merhaculous

How long were you warned or banned for?

Here's an explanation of what happened and why I think this warn should be appealed:

I was in industrial outside a base I intended to raid. In my mind, I begun the raid by eating several food while alone outside this base while I await for my party members to arrive to the doors to help me plant bombs.

I don’t see this happen, but I later learn that at some point as the party members are arriving, another player outside the group arrives and starts lockpicking the doors to the base I’m raiding. I didn't realize there was someone involved that wasn’t a defender nor in my raiding group until a later point in the raid. He initially blended in with the rest of our group that was pulling up. In my mind I was raiding, so my party members pulling up to help the raid would’ve meant them killing anyone not involved in the raid zone. Since nobody was shooting at anyone else, I assumed that nobody else was there but our raid group.

Right when I hear the sounds of doors being blown off, I take this as my party’s signal that they have all arrived and are ready. I start planting bombs. This is about 2 minutes after I began eating food. I toss in a bomb into the base. Immediately, I see my bomb get tossed back out of the base, meaning that a defender must be in front of the dupe, but behind the door where I cannot see them. I continue raiding and throw in another bomb to try to kill this defender. While doing so, I somebody crouch walking into the base through the dupe, so I assume it's the other defender retreating trying to get behind all the props. So, I shoot and kill them. Who I kill is in fact not a defender but the guy who I never saw pull up and start lockpicking the doors. After this kill I see a lot of party chat activity, and see talk about who I killed claiming that he “started the raid.” This makes me think that maybe he was stealth raiding before I ever showed up to the base, I had no idea that I was supposedly interrupting someone else's raid. This is the first moment I notice that another player is involved that wasn’t a defender nor someone in my raiding group.

When my party members were showing up, in my mind, I was continuing a raid I had already started by eating food. The player that called the sit is claiming that he ran up and lockpicked the doors and started any raid activity first, but he lockpicked the doors after I ate food, when nobody had showed up yet.

Eating food in my mind, when done outside a base with ents, starts a raid. This is directly because I was involved in a situation in the past where a player in MY base destroyed ents after hearing a raider use food and deployable shields. The player who broke ents in my base was given a warn for FailRP, because it was said that he broke ents after a raid had considered to be started with the shown intent of raiding by using food and placing down deployable shields. Here is a link to a forums post that discusses the situation:

In this post, the moderators explain that "In my opinion this was very clear cut in logs with Lobotomies [the baser that destroyed ents] loop holing, with Spectate [the raider] placing down shields(with an extremely loud sound), eating food & talismans."

For this reason, in my mind, eating food is a legitimate way to start raid. This post also  talks about having "intent to raid."

From this situation I have a firm perspective that: a player was warned in the past for FailRP for breaking ents after a raider was eating food/talismans/placing deployable shields outside the base. Thus, doing any of those things outside a base means the start of a raid.

I feel that I showed intent to raid with the eating of multiple foods outside the only base in the area, and I believe I was right to think that I started the raid based on the experience I had in the forums post above, in which I was involved. I got warned for “taking over a raid” because I killed a player who I never saw lockpick the doors and thought was a base defender, and he lockpicked the doors a couple of minutes after I thought I started the raid by eating the food.

I am not trying to get the player who I killed warned because there's no way of him knowing that I had started the raid. I also don’t think I should be warned for taking over a raid, either. From my track record of having 0 bans and 1 warn, in my mind, I was playing by the rules, as I always do, and thought from a previous situation that I legitimately had intent to raid, showed intent to raid, and thus started a raid. Again, in the forums post, food is mentioned by staff along with deployable shields as items showing valid intent to raid.

I do not have any clips of the situation because I no longer run medal while I play gmod. I rarely used medal to begin with and I want to have as many frames as possible while playing. Thus, I do not have a video of me eating food. Upon request of my food logs, I was told by senior mod KKStoner that he could not access my food logs. I was also told by Merhaculous, the player that handled the sit and gave me a warn, that they could not access the log of when the other player who lockpicked the doors. If it is true that as described in this very website, "Everyone in this server is innocent until proven guilty," it doesn't exactly help when I can't get any evidence for myself to prove my innocence. If I can't gather any evidence of when I ate the food, a warn being given to me is blindly refusing the idea that I ate food before the other player lockpicked the doors, thus I'm guilty until proven innocent. Equivalently, if I can't gather any evidence for when the lockpicking of the doors by the other player happened, a warn being given to me is blindly accepting the idea that the other player lockpicked the doors first before I started eating food, thus he's innocent until proven guilty.

hi i think merhaculous forgot to lock this thread but how is eating food near a base starting a raid? if i eat food before my pd raid intending to raid it am i failrping because im raiding without an advert? the ruling on that report is braindead and makes no sense for staff to enforce, i hope i am allowed to kill anyone using armor or heal food outside my base as it is my belief that they are intending to raid and you cannot dispute that.

edit/addition: saying intent to raid = u are raiding is braindead as fuck and can be loopholed infinitely by someone standing outside of a base with the intent to raid but no raid actions started, and then reporting you when you repaste dupe because he had intent to raid he just hadnt started it yet

double edit i didnt read ur post so i will remove what i originally wrote here..

(Retarded decision by old staff team, retarded decision to upkeep for future, sure delete the warn but also change this braindead rule)
