Banned for using the map fairly

A. i do not believe this sort of defense should be allowed as it is clearly exploiting a part of the map that was done incorrectly and with a one way added the odds of getting a good shot while you get sprayed through the hole while rushing in to raid

 

B. I don't think this should have been a 2 month ban and honestly should have been a Verbal due to circumstances. I feel that in some ways this would violate the essence of the rule about abusing head glitches for a crouch base as this is head glitching to shoot through a gap that is next to impossible for you to be hit through and this gab cannot be destroyed by means of Trisha or other raiding tools to balance out this angle

+1 for reduction to warn/verbal as this is something i feel should have been expressly prohibited before punishment was dished out unless the user has a history of exploiting game and map features which seems to be partially the case. User has a exploiting ban from 2021 but its so long ago it should not have much bearing on this incident unless it was for the exact same sort of infraction.

Per our rules,

 

"You cannot have a crouch base that exploits a head or foot glitch (or any other body part, don't loophole please)."

I believe this applies here, although I do not believe you should have gotten a 2 month ban, rather a verbal warning with a note dictating that you have used this flaw in the map.

+1 for unban, with added note "User has utilized a map flaw to unfairly gain an advantage."

Hello,

I am the banning staff member. Last night, I saw a ticket for exploiting so I decided to spectate the accused, and I saw he and the dupe owner were talking to someone about the situation.

So then, I had the accuser re-raid after the raid timer was up so we could clip it.

I mean it is an exploit, bad map design or not. You can clearly see the person shooting into the window having an unfair advantage. As for the two month ban, I had seen a prior ban for exploiting but since it was so long ago I'd be willing reduce it 1 month.

+1 for a reduction to 1 month

lost with gunjam and didnt even lose to the exploit he lost to a fair 1v1 why is this a 2 month ban even being considered to be reduced to 1 month and not reduced to a warn? the advantage gained is so minimal and he literally explained the gap he was shooting through before the 2nd raid so to raid and report it is insane.

as a staff you shouldve just said dont use that until we fix it instead of having him re-raided after explaining what it is hes doing to have him use it again so u could ban him lol..

not 2 month worthy at all not even ban worthy this isnt exploiting and didnt provide anywhere near enough advantage.

So people have done this before and at most they got a warn unless they have been told not to use the bug before +1 for a unban, and reduce the punishment to a warning.

After speaking with other staff and players, I realize now I was being too harsh on this. This is the first time I've ever heard or seen this issue so it was all news to me, from my perspective I saw using the window in that manner as an exploit to give an unintended advantage over the raiding player, but if the general consensus is to warn the player and tell them not to use the bug then I apologize for my swift action.

+1 for unban and change punishment to a warn

It would not apply here due to the raider being able to shoot back through the gap, you'd have to not be able to shoot back whatsoever for it to apply.

I do agree this should be a verbal. Even a warn is goofy for this. There is no indication that this would not be allowed

I appreciate all of your support and feedback on it. The Moderator and people in the sit made it seem cut and stone that even at a 2 month i was getting off light. It all felt super weird for people to say and even for the Moderator who didnt say anything besides just saying that i abused a "exploit" and have a previous record (of one questionable ban) to essentially call me a repeat offender. Obviously want to view it as no malicious intent but i feel that the raiders were definitely a little salty.

 @stickolasi was the one who made the call for the ban looking at the comments on this appeal and after talking with other people I realized this isn't EXPLOITING and I will openly admit that was a dumb call on my end don't fault the banning moderator I'ma go ahead and fully unban you and just leave a warn on your account making sure this doesn't happen again 

Once again truly sorry for the harsh punishment
