This post was to mainly bring attention and maybe clarify rules so that CP can have clarification of "Having a firearm without a license: If you are searched and possess a weapon without a license you can be arrested. Police may randomly search you if they have reason to believe you possess an unlicensed weapon".  Me knowing that some SWEPs are illegal(7+ jobs linked in the post), and many people have different types of SWEPS on their CC, if I see one out, I would believe this is enough reason to randomly search. Granted the sword swep was not illegal, there were other illegal weapons warranting them to go to jail. If a cop searches someone for a recreational amount of weed and finds an illegal firearm does this mean they cannot charge the person for having an illegal firearm?

 

In the end I think SWEPS in general should be reasonable suspicion to randomly search someone as there is a chance it could be illegal.

 

I don't think it's your fault at all as you didn't have the full story and the rule is very iffy. I would be fine with a verbal or whatever staff concludes.

I’ve talked with other staff and I’ve been arrested by other staff in the exact same way. Because the SWEP does damage, you’re allowed to check. It’s a dick move, but as far as I’m aware, it can be considered a weapon and therefore be grounds for a weapon check.

Its not considered illegal tho according to when you do a weapon search. But im still chill with giving a verbal

Not considered illegal at all, however in RP it is considered a danger as it does damage, and therefore grounds for weapon checking. Again total dick move lol, but valid imo

If it is not illegal then it is not grounds for a weapon search. Players fist does damage doesn't mean you can weapon search them for having their fist out.
