Mclovins 'RDM' when it was deathmatch between friends

I know I'm not staff, and have no say in this matter. What I remember when I was staff on here, and EVERY other server I've been staff on, TDM with friends is usually considered RDM. The server is a DarkRP, not a TDM server. Letting people run around killing people, if they are friends or not, usually doesn't end well. You may accidentally shot someone once, then they come and shoot your buddies and you, then you guys call RDM beccause "He wasnt part of it". Not saying this was you, but TDM with friends is usually NOT encouraged on DarkRP servers.

I would actually go to say they don't deserve to be unbanned. There was no sit, but they did break rules, and the admin was watching the entire time.

 

I do see your point, but it wasn't a "Oh look these guys have killed each other over 10 times what are they doing?". I killed Salami probably 2 or three times, then KimJungUn a little bit more before I was banned.

 

If it was truly RDM, it would have been at someones expense.

 

For example:

 

Ex 1) You're walking down the road and someone shoots you, damn son u just lost all ur weapons. In this example your expense would have been the money it took to purchase those weapons, and the weapons themselves.

 

Ex 2) You're building your base and someone shoots you mid physgun. Your prop drops to the ground and you're now at spawn. The expense there would the time it takes to walk back to your base, and the extra time you need to put in making your base again (This could be a lot, depending if you're a perfectionist or not). 

 

Now while my friends and I did lose items, we were doing it with the knowledge that we would lose these things. Also, McLovins didn't bother to give a sit. He just straight up banned Kim, Salami, and I (Uniporpoise was just messing around, not really killing anyone). Now while the ban on Salami is probably legitimate (I don't remember whether or not he killed others, he probably did so it most likely was legitimate). Kim and I weren't harming any people. 

 

Also lets be real here, I don't think i've ever encountered a half decent deathmatch server on Garry's Mod so don't say "This isn't a TDM server" because those don't really exist, or at least I haven't seen one in the last 6 months.

 

Answer to this post...don't just ignore it because I'm right. Did you, or did you not, advert war? Does not matter if your friends were okay with it, it is disruptive to players around you unless you specifically advert it. I understand, McLovins IS at fault for not taking you guys into a sit, but you are possibly at fault for not adverting war, therefore, regardless, the ban was legitimate. If you ignore this post and reply to the person who posts after me, I will remove your posting privilege for 2 days...

Ban was not legitimate.. And he does not HAVE to answer you, just because you are mod on forums don't mean you can threaten people with the powers.

What makes you say ban was not legitimate? The ban was legitimate if advert war was not called...other players have no clue what is going on which will lead to problems like them joining in thinking its a mass rdming battle. However, if advert war is called, then players know what is going on. Also, the only reason I threatened that is because he completely ignored my post which asked this same exact question, this storm of anger could easily stop if he just answered the question.

The ban was legitimate if advert war was not called...other players have no clue what is going on which will lead to problems like them joining in thinking its a mass rdming battle. However, if advert war is called, then players know what is going on. Because mclovins failed to do his job, hold a sit, If he would have held a sit mclovins would have knew they were Messing around. So its mclovins fault for not doing his job correctly, therefore making it a false ban.

That's not an excuse. I already said, McLovins did fuck up, but regardless, they were in the wrong. They cannot have an RDM war without adverting it and someone accepting it. As I said above, this would cause problems with players who see RDM, scroll through chat, and see nothing.

Just because you say the ban was legitimate doesn't automatically make you right. Stop thinking that your say is the final say. If there are other moderators arguing different than you, why not instead of assuming that your right talk it out. I don't really have any right to tell you what to do but you are just acting like a power hungry know-it-all.

War/Revolution Rules

 

1) You can only go to war on factions if they also agree. Factions include: Blood /Krips, Hobos, Sewer people.

 

 

Calling a war would have been stupid because right from the rules, wars are only between factions (Or atleast, there is nothing in there to interpret it in another fashion). My friends and I were not in different factions therefore calling a war wouldn't have done jack shit. Could we have been in separate factions? Sure, but your point is invalid because we weren't in factions.

 

Also really m8? "Reply saying saying so, and do not mention anything else." Like, when were you leader of this thread? Were you directly involved in the bans that were handed out? Are you an admin who can give final says? If the answers are no, then why the fuck are you acting like you have the power to end a thread which has become a debate between people.

You are completely correct, however, you literally just proved yourself wrong. I said many times that McLovins is in the wrong, but you just admitted to RDMing, RDM stands for random deathmatch, what did you guys do? You guys randomly had a deathmatch. Therefore, the ban was technically justified, other players would know that opposite factions are fighting, but non-faction classes may just be having an RDM war, which may lead to other users joining in, causing many RDM calls to be made. I was trying to stop this thread before it reached 5 pages, like another report on staff made before Sugar reached it, I admit, it was a bit far to say what I said, but at the end of the day, both parties were in the wrong, all that is left is to hand out according punishments, no further replies are needed if that was pretty much an end-all-be-all.

This was never about reporting McLovins. This was a ban appeal that led to people pointing out he was in the wrong.

 

However, it wasn't a random deathmatch, we were just trying to have some fun between friends without harming anyone else.

 

If someone asks another person to kill them, is it RDM? Not really, because they knew that it was consensual. I may have gone a little too far by calling it a deathmatch, but the kills were consensual so it was not random. We can argue all day about what could have theoretically happened, however we are here to talk about what actually went down. There were no RDM calls because it wasn't RDM (Once again, I have no idea if calls on Salami Showdown were called, but I already talked about that in my previous posts). You are using the term "Random Deathmatch" in the literal sense however RDM is when a user randomly kills others without valid reason. It doesn't necessarily pertain to a deathmatch itself. I don't see myself admitting to RDMing above. As I already stated the kills were consensual and we already knew what was going down as we did it.

 

Honestly at this point this ban appeal has gone way to far. McLovins was in the wrong for not having a sit, however we can argue whether or not my friends and I were also in the wrong. If we were, you can reinstate the ban, however it would have been up by tomorrow anyways and I haven't been able to play due to school so it wouldn't affect me much anyways. If you want we can continue this in a separate thread, but IMO this ban appeal should be over and because of that, I won't reply anymore on this. You say at the end of the day both of us were at fault, that is your opinion and you can reinsate the ban but at this point it's gone too far so I won't reply to anything else posted here.
