birbo ban alert

What im seeing is that birbo intended to break the rules by scamming 1 mil. But in the end he didnt fall through with it so he sold the broken crate for 900k which means even though it was scummy, he was within the rules. I dont know why birbo was banned in the first place.

If you try to sit exploit or try to mass RDM, the punishment is generally the same as if you had actually done those things, hence the punishment for actually scamming 1mil being given for attempting to scam 1mil.

That may be true, but thats different. A better comparison would be saying in OOC "Im gonna sit exploit" or "im gonna MRDM" but not actually sit exploiting or MRDMing

You even admitted that Vexxy told you that you could sell the broken one for 1 mil, when I brought him to the sit he said that he was obviously joking when he said that. I find it sis that you are also tryin to lie on your appeal. Vexxy can vouch for this because I did bring him into the sit.

He never sold it for 1 mil though. I dont agree with scamming but even though he planned on selling a crate for 1 mil, he didnt. You cant permanently ban birbo for saying he was gonna sell a broken crate for 1 mil but then he sells it for 900k. It doesnt make sense. Unless theres a detail im missing, i dont think birbo should have been permed for this. Maybe a 1 month ban maximum, but a perm is overkill. I dont think he should be banned at all as a matter of fact. He was under the 1 mil scamming limit so he was within the rules. Simple as that. This single ban is bending the rules and making it seem like the limit is now 900k. Maybe even less.

I’d be willing to consider a lower in the ban, I see your points, I would even be willing to unban if he would actually give the man his money back. I just don’t think that what birbo did was just, he knows that if an ignorant player would have came along he would have sold the loot box for 1 mil

he broke 0 rules by doing this though. He shouldnt be banned in the first place. There isnt 1 rule he broke by doing this. He scammed someone (which is scummy) but it was under 1 mil. I dont agree with these rules and i think that scamming shouldnt be allowed at all, but birbo didnt break any rules by doing what he did.

He knew what he was doing and in that he knowingly scammed someone for damn well near 1 million. What makes it against the rules is that in this case he tried to get 1 million out of it and it is almost like the gun stand thing when you sold your ‘ultra rare’ guns for 999,999 and it not being ‘scamming rule’ either you give him the crate that did work or the money back. But honestly I’m -1 for this appeal based on principle of how we handled things like this in the past.

Whats the point of the 1 mil limit in that case? And yes, at first he wanted 1 mil then lowered it to 900k so he would still be within the rules. Birbo obviously knew he was scamming but he did it within the rules. It is that simple. If people can get banned for scamming under the limit, then scamming shouldnt be allowed at all. It doesnt make sense to place a scamming limit if you're just gonna overwrite it later on.

the principal is that scamming is ok in moderation but if you start scamming for very large sums of money or to an extreme degree the staff get involved. super high value scams don't add to RP while some minimal scamming serves to teach new players to be cautious and adds a fairly lucrative method of earning $ for people who don't care about reputation. There's a large difference between scamming 1mil and scamming some dumbass 80k on a UMP45 named "Blowtorch"

Idk how many times I'm gonna have to say it but I was not selling or planning to sell a t3 for 1 mil, heck pmd and asked for 900k when 1mill is already a steal, so INSTEAD I gave him the broken box. Stop saying you knew my intent or that I broke a rule

*sell a broken t3

DO trade at your own discretion and do your research. Being scammed 1 Mil or more DakrRP cash or any amount of IRL money or Suga Dollars is subject to review and punishment. Ask for a staff witness if you are unsure of a transaction

Straight from the MOTD. He scammed under 1 mil so it was not a valid ban. It was a large amount of cash, yes, but it was under the limit therefore he was within the rules. It was your fault that you got scammed. You caused birbo to be falsely banned.
