Holy 260+ replies on that. Is there going to be a condensed summary of all the approved changes / announcement?

What's the final, concrete stance on competency tests? The written rule says, no, they're not allowed. Some smods say (and enforce) that as long as the questions are related to pd, that it's ok. One Super Admin just refers to the written rule. Others say that since Coconut is now gone that his rule change was rushed (from their pov) that it's sort of out the window. Either they're gone or they're not gone. The pancake flipping is clearly causing some confusion.

How do you know that they're not in some private Discord server plotting shit right now? After all @wolf2297, you've been very vocal lately. Almost too vocal. A comm removal might be your future. Don't slip up.

Me reading this thread: https://giphy.com/gifs/michael-jackson-6pJNYBYSMFod2 So the 2 main discussion points in this post are raiding/basing and badmins. For the raiding/basing thing, there's at least 15 pages worth of threads over the years. Circular conversation at this point. The badmin thing is a bit more interesting. In my years playing gmod (on various servers), I've seen alboth sides of "that one hated admin". The one thing that was in common was that the people who thought they were targetted by "that one hated admin" were never in their thoughts like that at all. That's right. Ninety-nine percent of the time, "that one hated admin" isn't thinking about you at all. As a man who loves a good conspiracy theory, it pains me greatly to say it, but the current "that one hated admin" likely isn't some boogeyman shadow emperor pulling strings and treating the server like a chess board. I could be wrong, but cmon, let's be real for a moment. All that being said, on the flip side, "that one hated admin" is clearly hated by certain vocal elements of the community for whatever reason(s). While "that one hated admin" doesn't think much about their haters, their haters think a lot about them. Those haters are very much waiting very patiently for "that one hated admin" to slip up. God help "that one hated admin" when the slip up does inevitably happen. I've seen it play out multiple times on multiple servers (including here). It'll be a very fun time on the forums that's for sure (unless the drama plays out on Discord ).

I agree to a certain extent. However, the server history has to be taken into account when looking at that data. Simply put, during the 8-9 months of the (school) year, this server has always averaged 55-80 something players. The only thing that has changed over the years is the number of server slots. Back in 2017 (when I first joined), it was 75 slots. As I type this, the current server population is 65. 65/75 doesnt look too bad. Sometime in early 2018, the number of server slots was increased to 90. 65/90 doesn't look too bad and the population goes up to the mid-upper 80s as it gets closer to midnight. Sometime in 2020, the number of server slots increased to 128 (as KDawg always wanted). 65/128 looks horrible and is subject to threads like this. Thank God summer is always around to pump those numbers up. Covid messed things up a bit, but now it's more or less back to normal. I invite you to look at the following gametracker link and navigate over to the "Historical Data" chart and click 30 days: https://www.gametracker.com/server_info/193.243.190.39:27015/ I then want you to imagine how that chart would look if the number of slots on the server was 90 as opposed to 128. Ah shit, you got me pushing my old narrative again. This is why I want to wait until the summer (preferably mid July). It's great to see that a (seemingly) newer player cares so much. That bodes well for the server's future.
-
Take a quick look at this post from last year. Literally the same situation (server was averaging 55-85 or so) Do you want to know how that ended? The server went back to averaging 100+ within 1 month and I looked like a clown. I'll continue to reserve my judgement until next summer since the server population always picks up during summer months (as it always has). This claim makes a lot of assumptions. All I will say is that school does have a major impact on player count. What do think the main demographic that plays TitsRP is? I'll leave it at that and see what happens next summer.
-
Dude.... your warn appeal got denied and you decide to post a "server is shit" thread. Anyway, it's too early for this type of conversation. Historically (aka pre-Covid), TitsRP was a summer server. Summer months, the place would always be packed then once the (American) school year started, the player count would dip. If it's mid-July 2024 and the numbers are still like this, then it's time to really take a hard look. Until then, just take the L on your warn appeal.

I used to play like 40+ hours a week on tits, after my ban it's like 5
Makoto replied to David Davidson's topic in Discussion
Oh shit, this is your forums account Bathroom?! You're one of the best and most creative Mayors to have ever played! RIP your ban from 3-4 months ago. Anyway, your decreased time on the server follows a natural flow tbh. Averaging 40 hrs a week for ~3 years will lead to server fatigue/burnout and I'm surprised you didn't scale your time back sooner. Still visit sometimes and run for Mayor. This place definitely needs Mayors like you. -
This is something that I have noticed a lot of in the 11 months I've returned to being active. This is how it usually goes down. I call a sit against someone I accuse of mass rdming. The staff member who accepted the sit brings me. The staff member then teleports and jails the person I have accused. The sit proceeds from there. Other times I see players getting teleported and jailed for non mass rdm sits only to be unjailed within 5 minutes. What's going on there? I swear teleporting and jailing was never so widely used a few years ago. What happened? I believe that teleporting and jailing before speaking to the accused starts sits off on the wrong foot. Psychologically, the accused is likely to believe that they are already being presumed as guilty and the quality of the sit suffers. That's partially why ban appeals where the poster types some form of "The staff member didn't listen to me" happen. Speaking of presuming guilt, anytime a staff member asks "Why did you [insert rule violation here] this player?", when in a sit, I internally facepalm. That's a textbook example of presuming guilt that causes the accused to behave defensively. That's part of where the perceived bad attitudes from players in sits come from. This behavior is killing the quality of sits. Now I'm not here to type out a rant without any solutions to my grievances. My solutions are what I did when I was a staff member way back in the day and I'm putting my 0 report against and 0 ban appeals on bans I issued record on the line. The following is what I think can bring dignity and quality back to sits: . When you bring players to a sit, tell the accused what they are there for in a *non-accusatory* way. For example: Player A has accused you of [rule violation here]. Or Player A says you [rule violation here]. Trust me, when the sit starts like that, the accused will be DYING to tell their side. (NOTE: Saying "Why did you rdm this person?" is what NOT to do. You do that and you've set an accusatory tone that will carry through the entire sit.) . Cut down on the jailing. Give the players some dignity. If you believe someone might snap, have your admin stick out and set it to the freeze function. If a player tries any shenanigans, you freeze them, jail them, unfreeze them, and continue with the sit. Feel free to discuss what you think about this topic and what I said on it.

Tene, your reply answered most of my questions and concerns. As for what I meant by tight districts, that was American delivery driver slang leaking out. My bad. A "tight" area is a small, condensed area with a lot of delivery stops. Much beloved in the delivery driver profession because you empty your truck quickly. I say all that to mean that I was agreeing with the district idea and that I liked it. Based on your above reply to each of my points, my only remaining concern is the red district. I don't think much can be done about it since downtown is always a hotbed of activity. As for the party assist thing and raids, I guess the staff team will have to have a meeting to re-define assists if we're going to be going down this road.

First of all, Merry Christmas everyone. To start off with a disclaimer, I'm not much of a baser/raider, so several of my opinions may "ignorant" of the overall situation. That aside, I don't think it's the best idea to "spread out" the pvp involved in raiding. I already forsee several misunderstandings happening and the staff team having to deal with a lot of sits from either players caught in crossfire or raiders killed because their bullet grazed someone in crossfire. Keeping raids pinned to the base being raided has the additional benefit of letting people know what's going on. The district idea isn't a bad idea. If we're going to spread out pvp combat, keeping it in tight districts is the way to go. However, the picture in the original post shows that not every district is created equal. Quite frankly, the red district is a clusterfuck and on its own is enough to derail the entire concept. I don't think any further explanation is necessary. Also, please tell me that the hot pink district isn't everything from the street all the way to the beach house island? Here's an area of this rule change that I think needs more fleshing out: the sewers. How do the sewers factor into the proposed district idea? The majority of the proposed districts have one or several entrances to the sewers (red, dark blue, light blue, dark green, purple, and burgundy [forest area]). I'm assuming that they would have their own separate ruleset. What about the bases that connect directly to them (the warehouse downtown [that pesky red district] and that one house in the green district)? That's my two cents. Maybe an actual raiding expert can come in here? @1-800-Suicide

I'm proud of the TitsRP community has reacted to this thread. You all collectively came out and shut down this borderline bestiality boy who's trying to force people to accept his kink as normal behavior. And he got exposed trying to sexualize a Doberman. These furries man, I swear... . Wait a sec, isn't this the same guy with the whole ahegao fox profile pic thing too? Oh boy..... To actually address op's question: Simply no. A pedo joke/accusation can actually ruin someone's reputation, legal standing, and life. A zoophilia joke/accusation could do that, but most people would get off with being simply thought of as weirdos. @YeenNicoYou probably shouldn't have posted this here. People irl who don't know what a furry is would already think you're a weirdo if they saw you wearing your costume in public on non-Halloween days. The people that do know what furries are well... you've already seen their reaction. Someone should lock this thread before YeenNico gets shit on more than he already has.

I very respectfully disagree with this suggestion. Kidnapping is the way it is now because of community complaints. At its peak (read: absolute worst), you almost couldn't walk the streets without a kidnap attempt made on you by a member of one of 4 kidnap bases in a small area. And was just CC kidnappers. Add in Cultists and Aliens, and it became unbearable. That being said, I'd compromise on removing several kidnapping nerfs as long as the individual cooldown stays intact.

Based on the title, you probably know where this is going. Based on years of observation and lurking, I believe that there are too many slots on TitsRP. I understand that it was a long time goal of Sugar's for the server to be optimized for 128 people, but in my opinion, the current optics do not justify 128 slots. I understand that schools are gradually going into summer break and that the server should (emphasize the should) see more activity, but what about the other 10 months of the year? Having the server sit at 45-68/128 for 10 months out of the year looks really bad and actively drives away potential new players. If you were a new player, which server would you likely want to join? The half full 64/128 server or a server that seems buzzing with 78/90? Human psychology would favor the 78/90. If you go on gametracker and track TitsRP's stats, for the past 30 days, the server hasn't cracked 96 players (75% capacity!) during peak times. Actually, I'll paste the following link: https://www.gametracker.com/server_info/208.103.169.23:27015/ In conclusion, 128 slots is too large for the current state of the server. I believe that 90 slots is the sweet spot for our community. Feel free to discuss what you all think.

That's basically Mayor's orders. Yes the law said x, but the Mayor can say in pd group chat to not arrest y because he wanted him in the PD. Since the Mayor can fire cp, there's an incentive to not disobey the Mayor's orders.
-
You are free to explain why you think it shouldn't be changed rather than just rant that you dont like the idea. My suggestion is simply because I do see and have seen people do what the op explains and think that it really doesn't have any requiremennnt in terms of skill if you think lowering rate of fire of the arrest baton is a bad idea that would lead me to belive you're the type of person who would just spam arrest baton while running towards them, which imo isn't rewarding gameplay. Instead if the fire rate is slightly lowered it will be more punishing to players that just run around spamming it. It is not a nerf to most cops and adds a little more skill based gameplay to the job. Like Wilmer said in a corridor or in a corner this would be most noticable since for example if you surprise the raider but miss you are punished for it but you are still rewarded for hitting it. Unskilled gameplay is something I do not like and I think you should be punished for making mistakes, with an exception being that you spend a dumb amount of money on one life to get to be unskilled. Tbh, I forgot that the op was about baton rushing. Making a rule about it is pointless imo since TitsRP is a server where you have to be wanted for the arrest baton to even work. I see new players try to only use the arrest baton and they learn VERY quickly it doesn't work. The wanted stick timer already keeps baton rushing in check since you have to aim at the right person. As for cuff rushing, insta cuffs are more widespread and even with the nerfs to the distance, are some times more effective than getting in a firefight you know you'll lose. Also, adding a rule like that could potentially make the cps more trigger-happy than they already can be. Most cps I see on the server try to arrest first (for the money), and I can see a rule like this shifting the behavior to a "shoot first, ask questions later" mentality.
-
Here we go again. Another complaint about the CPs allegedly being "too op". First it was the Juggernaut nerf, then Insta-cuffs, now you're going after arrest batons?! Let's be honest here, this is just an attempt to further nerf the cps so that raiders and other criminals can run around with impunity. You said adding realism to arresting? How about adding realism to raiding? The way a lot of people "raid" isn't realistic either. But I digress. The rate of fire for the arrest baton? Seriously? You're grasping at straws at this point.

This has been in the works for the past few weeks. I've rapidly gotten bored of the server to the point of wanting to log off within 20 minutes of me logging in. I no longer take sits (haven't in like a week and a half) and don't really spend much time on the server anymore. It's only going to get worse, so I believe it's in both my best interests and the server's best interests if I resign. I'll still be around, just not as much. I'd like to thank Neko for accepting my app and the staff team for making my experience enjoyable. Being on the other side has been quite an eye opening experience and one that I'm glad I had. With that being said, I officially resign from my position as a mod on TitsRP.

Your Steam Name: Rastaman Vibrations Your ingame name: Makoto Your Steam Profile/SteamID: http://steamcommunity.com/id/RasVibrations/ Why were you banned?: Rda in a sit | Votekicking with staff on | Lmao gg tho, I'll give you props for stepping forward Why should you be unbanned?: This isn't really an appeal. This is just my chance for me to give my side of the story since my gmod decided to crash on me and not allow me to. Basically a guy (FaZe Cool Kid) and I had beef that started over one rdm. We get in a sit and I literally arrest him during the sit. The staff who took the sit killed me for it and that was the end of it. For the next like 30 mins or so, me and this guy are at war. He shoots me on sight, I arrest and jail him on sight. I even do it in spawn when he's verbally abusing the staff member who took the original sit. I literally arrest him like 3 times in spawn in front of a mod and well.... got away with it. I literally arrested and jailed this dude like 8 times. Eventually we have another sit. During this sit, I get a warn. I had cuffed FaZe and was jailed. I was unjailed so I could uncuff him. He kills me afterward and gets warned for RDM in a sit. After we get returned, he was vote demoting me several times. I retaliate and vote demote him. I also vote kick him. The vote kick is ignored and I get a free kick. Too easy tbh xD. He returns to the server and vote demotes me again. I respond with a voteban. It gets stopped. Dindu finally tp and jails him. I think that's the end of my troubles and that I've gotten away with a gross amount of trolling. I'm proven wrong when Dindu finally brings me. I admit to everything I've done because honestly, I was laughing irl about it and how I basically got away with it. Dindu goes into investigation mode. Before the investigation can be launched, my GMOD screen goes black (or as I was later told, I was banned). I'm writing this just to tell my side of the story. I don't expect anything out of this. This is basically a story of massive rule breaking (Mass RDA, Abuse of voteban) and how I got away with it for over an hour. I never expected to be able to do so much and get away with it. FaZe, if you're reading this I was never angry with you. I basically decided to massively troll you. Nothing was done for a while so it escalated even beyond my expectations. This image describes how I felt https://i.imgur.com/6kNPCr6.png. That's basically my side of the story. I'll be back in 6 days. (or on my next day off, whichever is first) Who banned you? Dindu Nuffinz Evidence: Post videos, screenshots, anything that can help. Numerous screenshots help, a decently lengthed video helps too.

You're absolutely right. Most people want to do their crimes with impunity, and when faced with a powerful police force will cry "op", "nerf this". The handcuff nerf has tipped the scales in a way I honestly don't think Sugar thought through. There are minges out there who attempt to attack cps after they have handcuffed someone even if they arent rp related just to "fuck the police". However, since they can no longer be handcuffed within 6 seconds, they'll probably be killed. In fact, that's exactly what I'll do. During the 6 second handcuff cooldown, I'll use lethal force for every crime I see. When the sit happens and the mod asks why I didn't attempt to arrest, I'll say I couldn't because of the 6 second handcuff cooldown. I encourage everyone who plays as cp to take that approach. The whole cuffing thing prevented a lot of lethal force being used, but I guess criminals outgun the cops. We'll see what happens.

Gmod hours: 1905 What you can contribute to our gang: Political power, money, somewhat decent base defense Are you liked? Be honest.: I'm liked enough to either get elected Mayor in a landslide, or lose by only one vote each time Do you raid?: Yes Do you base?: I usually don't. I prefer to roam around, or I just base in the PD if I'm Mayor. You cool? Gotta be cool: This is a "weeb" invasion! :3
