Here's what happened. I only logged into the server probably less than an hour. I always play as CP, so naturally, I was a CP. While patrolling the park area, I witnessed a cultist knock out and drag away a body. I detained him and was in the process of fining him the proper amount based on MOTD Police Rules. but as I was typing, I was RDM'd by a Mike Myers, stabbed to death with a knife. This occurred at the building right next to the spawn hall leading to the park. So I respawned and had planned to go about my business. However, as I was walking by the same building, I now noticed that the door was wide open, so I looked inside to discover that the Cultist and Mike Myers were still in the area, and that at least one, if not both, of them, was running a kidnapping operation. I didn't know prior to this that the Cultist owned this building. I didn't step fully into the building but I was near the door enough to see that the door inside behind them was covered with a gate, and I had already seen him attempt to kidnap somebody, so in my mind, that's probable cause to investigate further. But, before I could do anything, the Mike Myers again started lunging towards me, still weilding the knife from before the entire time, and started stabbing me unprovoked, just like last time, while simultaneously, the Cultist pulled out his knockout baton. Having almost been stabbed to death, I finally pulled out my shotgun and managed to kill the Mike Myers. The Cultist had already threatened me by pulling a weapon and attempting to assist his friend in attacking me, but had at this point closed and locked his door, so I could not get in to search. So I moved around to the side of the house, and shot through the window, killing him. What I didn't know at the time, however, is that he had also put his weapon away, but was still very close to and facing the door and made absolutely no announcement that he was surrendering or unarmed. The Cultist then reported me and made the admin believe it was as simple as: I respawned, looked in the door, and blasted them both. I attempted to explain what was really happening to the moderator who brought us to the sit. Unfortunately, the server was still a bit laggy from someone attempting to DDoS, or otherwise crash, the server some time before the incident. So I could not hear audio or speak through the microphone without the signal breaking up. We went through everything briefly and he told me I was banned for 12 hours for Revenge RDM. Having never been banned before, and thinking the discussion was over and I recieved my punishment, I disconnected, because my mom had been calling me through the whole sit to help her. She is fresh out of surgery for total knee replacement and she can barely move. She needs help getting up, sitting down, and sometimes walking during her mandatory 3-month home rehabilitation so that maybe she can walk on her own again soon. So I'm sorry if I left too early, I sincerely thought the sit was over, having sat through everything else DESPITE my mother needing help to stand. I was furious, but I accepted my punishment without question. I later checked to see how much time was left so that I could set a timer for when I can FINALLY play the ONLY good DarkRP Server on Gmod, that I always seem to have trouble getting onto because of real life situations or lag or crashes or the server being full because it's so awesome, etc... I discovered that I am now being charged TWICE for ONE RDM and whatever that other thing is; I guess leaving and have to wait? SIX TIMES as long as the original agreed upon punishment, 12 hours went to 3 DAYS. But yo.. This is the ONLY server I actually enjoy playing on. I try to be the best person, CP, and role model I can be. I never fire my service weapons unless I feel I absolutely have to. I only arrest people who deserve it and I try to detain and fine suspects and defuse situations rather than escalate them like most would. I try to make sure other CPs are behaving, and if they are not, I treat them like any other criminal, until an admin gets to them, and sometimes we help each other. I like to work with admins and help them whenever it's possible and deemed necessary by them and I think I am rather good to the community and they are good to me. I apologize for the RDM and would gladly accept 12 hours starting from the end of the sit, but 3 days is beyond ridiculous for one misfire. I'm honestly shocked.

 

Evidence: Post videos, screenshots, anything that can help. Numerous screenshots help, a decently lengthed video helps too.

 

I can't record because I have a low-end PC these days, although I do have game recording software and equipment, I cannot play agame and record the screen at the same time without having to deal with uber lag. but evidently I need to find a way if people can just lie to get me out of their RP.

 

 

FOOTNOTE: during the sit, the mod accused me several times of lying, saying that I "changed my story". the story never changed. it was hard to explain without speech and in a tiny in game chat box

DCTAP means Disconnect to avoid punishment.

 

 

So basically, you left during a sit.

 

Eh, I mean you made a ban appeal, and that shows you actually care about the server.

 

If someone wants to, reduce the ban to 12 hours, I'm pretty sure you had a valid reason to leave.
