Why were you banned or warned?

MNLR + LTAP. I kept going back to the mayors office as Gru, this is because there was a law minutes earlier allowing Mr. Sniffy and Gru to go into the mayors office. Me and my friend Sloje roleplayed as Mr. Sniffy and Gru. We would walk in the mayors office repeatedly and do nothing but talk to the mayor and blast music with boomboxes. The moderators were alerted when me and Sloje reported a user for mass RDM after he killed us in the mayors office. We walked back, then got shot again so we reported him. The mod then informed us that the mayors office was KOS.

Why should you be unwarned/unbanned?

I believe the warnings should be removed because I did not mean to commit Mass NLR or LTAP.

For Mass NLR, the moderator let the player I reported go and then said I had returned to the mayor’s office four times. While the logs may show that I entered the area four times during the whole situation, I only returned once after the player killed me, and they killed me again. I was roleplaying as Gru, and there was an active law saying Gru was allowed inside the PD. The police also had to let me into the mayor’s office because I could not enter by myself. We were only talking to the mayor and playing music, not trying to continue a fight or get revenge. Because of this, I did not think going back broke NLR.

For LTAP, I did not leave to avoid punishment. I was playing through GeForce NOW when a message suddenly appeared saying my session would disconnect in ten seconds. It then disconnected me without me pressing anything. I had been working with the moderator and speaking respectfully before this happened. Exactly 12 seconds after I disconnected, my friend Sloje said in OOC chat that my internet had gone out and that I would return. This is shown in the attached screenshot. My disconnection was caused by GeForce NOW and was not an attempt to avoid punishment.

I was not actively trying to break the rules. I was just trying to have fun on the server with my friend Sloje. I apologize for disconnecting, but it was outside of my control. I also only had one warning before receiving this ban, so I ask that my ban and warnings be reconsidered.

In a general sense returning to the area such as PD after being killed if past yhr lobby is never a good idea, I'll forward this to Chair for Logs/Clips

Do you have any logs of this law that was placed? There's a law tab on the bottom that you can select to see. Law's is something we can confirm, your gforce now session ending is something we can't unless we see video proof. For now, LTAP remains as something that will stay on your ban. Now as for the actual ban, I think it was a bit harsh. You seem relatively new and while mass anything can result in a 7 day ban, I believe a small exception can be made for newer folks with no priors. I'd be fine seeing this stepped down to a 3 day ban which I believe is fair. Vex has stated that returning to PD, or anywhere after being killed is never really a good idea no matter who killed you. 

+1 for ban adjustment to 3 days BUT if you're ban isn't changed, that's fine since mass anything can result in 7 day ban.

In situations where you are killed in private property such as someone's base or within restricted areas of PD such as the Mayor's Office, NLR would apply no matter who killed you (as long as its a valid kill, such as a base defender or a cop for PD). You died and returned to an RP location a minimum of 3 times, which is considered Mass NLR.

However, upon further review, I can see that two of these kills/returns were RDM's by player dxd, who was a not a cop at the time, therefore you committed NLR 2x, not 3.

 

I will be dropping the MNLR ban to 2xNLR warn. As for the LTAP, unfortunately unless you are able to prove that your connection was dropped out because of Geforce NOW, I can only take that as your word. However, if you're able to provide video or photo evidence of your GeForce NOW dropping out, I will be willing to drop the warn into a NLR verbal.

I am inclined to believe your story here, and to that point—you are a brand new player, probably just confused about the rules.
 

Given that context I am +1 for this to be changed to a warn. The only reason you received a week long ban was the LTAP.

With the MNLR being invalid and considering this players actual playtime and complete lack of priors, the ban was a bit egregious. 

 

That being said, if you are a not a Cop and get killed in PD by a Cop, do not return as you will be breaking NLR. Nobody is going to care if you go to PD lobby to use the terminal, but actively going back an interacting with players where you died/the person that killed you is a no-go.

 

Whether GeForce was at fault or not, this is not that serious, and shouldn't warrant a 3d or week ban.

You have literally 0 priors and if steel chair looked at it more in depth before the ban he would've only seen NLR x2. This could've easily just been resolved with a " Hey don't do that again. ". Any NLR is bad, but you didnt go back to kill, but just chill in the office with them. This shouldn't result in any kind of ban based on your priors. +1 for ban removal and change to verbal

I mean the banning staff member has already agreed to change this into a warn/verbal. I think that the unfortunate LTAP didn't help but I wouldn't put that on you if what you said was true. Overall though, I think that it should have been used as something educational instead of something that was punished for. Looking at your dashboard, you are new with no priors. Though it is expected that you are reading the rules, we do usually try to educate prior to anything more drastic. +1 for ban removal changed to verbal note for NLR/Educated.

Message an admin when you see one online to get the ban off your record. I will remove the warn and replace it with a verbal for NLR x2. Please learn from this!
