ReShade usage on the Garry's Mod server

Is using ReShade, a graphics modifier, against the rules of the server under like anticheat or anything?

I used it once before on the server and didn't get banned by the anticheat. the program itself is kinda just filters lol

You do run the risk of tripping the anti-cheat or maybe a VAC ban when injecting anything into the game executable. For example, joining a CS;GO server that had VAC enabled has reportedly resulted in a ban a while ago. https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/ReShade Unsure if this is still a thing or if it applies to other source engine games but I would never inject anything and then try to connect to someone's server. Singleplayer / local servers are perfectly fine.

I wouldn’t use a 3rd party program to begin with, you can alternatively hold Q and mess with Post Process filters to enhance the games graphics to your liking.

 

VAC no longer exists on Gmod since GAC was put in place during the two ban waves when Gmod13 came out and has since been dead as an AC, the servers AC may or may not trigger, per Bruhther’s statement he didn’t get banned, but there is always a risk.

Garry’s mod is in fact VAC protected unless the server owner disables it. It is enabled by default on TitsRP.
