Not only is this not at all what couldve been inferred from the conversation, the fact he uses present tense to make it seem like im actively dating a 14 year old is quite an outrageous accusation. I call a sit and Joey Skylynx takes it. He first TPs to the reported player directly to ''yell at them'' about it, and then tps to me to inform me its been handled with a verbal warning. I discuss with him for a bit (for some reason he asks me about my entities but thats whatever), and talk about the guidelines. He says he doesnt stick to the guidelines cause theyre too harsh. I'm not really sure this is a good idea, but i respect education > punishment, however the user reported has a WARN from Joey Skylynx himself a DAY prior for the same thing, so clearly he does not typically give verbals for this. After Joey sees that the user has a warn from the day prior, he again TPs back to the other player to ''yell at him'' even more, meaning he still got a verbal despite it being his 2nd offence within a day of his last. 2nd offences are meant to be more severe than the last, not less, im not sure why this user got a verbal AFTER joey checked his warns and saw he had the same issue with the guy yesterday. I'm not sure why but as my memory serves any sit I've had with Joey Skylynx (i think its only 2 or 3) he teleports to me for my side of the story, then teleports to sitland and does a sit 1 on 1 with the other person, or just straight up tps to the other person. I'm not sure if he wasn't trained or whatever but I don't know why he isn't handling all sits in sitland, and only the sits that require you to be on mainland (stuck sits, propblock) should be handled via tping to the player instead of in sit land. For reference: Punishment guidelines, despite being a guideline, is something staff should either try to stick to or base their punishments around, even if it isn't directly 1:1. Joey Skylynx gave a verbal for this user when the punishment guidelines state 1st offence warn - 1 week, 2nd offence 2 week ban NO APPEAL -- either Joey is friends with this user which is why he gave him a lighter punishment or seriously needs staff training on punishments and how to take a sit properly. The reason I think it is bias and he is friends with the user is because even to Joey's own personal guidelines that he follows, he says 2nd offence for pedo accusations he bans for 3 days, but when he realises it is the guy's 2nd offence, he only gives him a verbal still. Not to mention it allows me to ask people for context to what exactly is going on, and why they said X, Y, and Z types of things. No. This is something I have personally picked up from moderating plenty of other servers and finding it to be the best way to get the most unbiased information possible out of both parties and avoiding confrontation which could escalate into murkier waters. As for the punishment... At first my intention was to talk with them and probably give them a warning, either verbal or written. I went to X78 and found that they were AFK, and they remained AFK for some time. I waited for them to return before going back to them and explaining why I was warning them and then issuing the punishment. Now for why I didn't ban said player... Their previous verbal for this type of thing was last year. As for my threat of banning them for 3 days and "yelling at them for it" that was before I determined the verbal warning was over a year ago. oops i misread the times and thought the punishment i provided was a day ago (eu time diff), not that there was a diff one last year, so some of this original post is prob read weird. either way, even if its a year old he still has a verbal and should be punished more heavily than a warn for saying something like that for no reason, it is quite a crazy accusation to make, and him using anon to post it makes me feel like he knew it wasnt allowed. did you ask him why he said it or anything? or was it just a random accusation he made. -> warns expire after 2 years, not 1 a 1 week ban in my opinion would be a lot more valid than a warn for a direct accusation on me. There was no clarity given to me on why it was said, and I think you should be able to use !gag or !mute in a sit if there is arguments, so that both sides can share their side of the story, otherwise it opens up the ability to lie way easier in these types of situations with you paraphrasing parts of what they say as a middleman - which overall leads to more confusion between the 2 players involved in the sit. As for just using gag/mute, one of the problems I have run into in the past with similar sits is that if you have to use it in the first place, you already lost control of the sit going forward. Not to mention the party getting gagged/muted is likely to assume that you are biased to the other individual in the sit, and it can skew how the evidence is presented from said party as they might try to frame things differently to appear more sympathetic. I know this sounds like a lot of mumbo jumbo, but believe me. I don't take drama/toxicity sits lightly, and I try to be as fair as possible unless it's something so blatant that it requires the stick over the carrot. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I can see why Joey went with a warn here though. This is from over a year ago and it's hard to justify a ban based on that. It's much more egregious if it a comment.
