Banned for months for 1 picture.

Mark i really hate the reason of unban on this appeal. Just cuz someone else shows their OWN face, it is their choice and their right. You showing the face of someone else without permission is against the rules clear cut. With that being said, sixnut has a point as well. If someone really really cares about not showing their identity, they would not have just casually streamed it in the most open voice chat ever. 

 

I have my own opinions of the medium of "personal image" u shared or reshared as well but Im not going to necro that old topic.

 

With that being said, I am fine with the time spent banned, approx 3months?

Because you broke the rules and got rightly banned. You haven't had the best reputation in the community and have been involved in drama. And the reason your appeal keeps getting denied is because there is no solid evidence that what you did was against the rules.

You just said that he broke the rules but you are in support of an unban. The rule has not changed so there is no justifiable reason that he should be unbanned. The only reason you want to unban him is because the amount of time that he spent being banned. 5. Posting other user's information / pictures without permission will result in an immediate slam. A slam is a permanent ban. If a ban wasn't mean to be permanent then we wouldn't ban someone permanently. If he was unbanned then the rule would need to be changed because unbanning him would be against the rule. I feel like rules should actually be enforced regardless how much people want to loophole the rule or try to go around it.

dave dave dave. First off, this is a gmod server. We enforce rules but we do not blindly follow em. This is why we allow appeals. This is why leniency is a useful tool for staff. The point of punishment is to deter people from doing it again. We remove people from the community if they are bad for the server as a whole and if they dont change. 

 

Education > Punishment

 

Second, permanent bans have been appealed before, u know this, i know this, everyone knows this.

 

Third, where in the word slam does it say permanent? Its saying u will be punished, the length of this punishment will then be decided on a case-by-case. 

Finally, rules aren't a concrete thing, if they need to be amended, then they will be amended. Its not like if we set a rule, it will exist and transcend time and space.

Ban appeals exist for a reason, I feel like it was made to unban people who learn from their mistakes.

 I do not see a reason to keep him banned as it just does nothing but prevent a player who genuinely cares about the server to play and participate. 3 months is a good amount of time for something such as this and I feel like he has learned his lesson. +1 for unban

I don't agree with your reasoning about dave showing face in VC and its relevancy to this appeal, but I think you have served your time so I am +1

+1 for a full unban. You've served your sentence long enough, and at this point the only reason the ban would stay would be out of a grudge. You're not a bad dude, you did a stupid thing, and through all of your appeals that i can note, have admitted to being a dumb dumb.



Just don't send pictures of people that may possibly be server members. If you see something like this happening in a private discord, ask before you even think about reposting whatevers going on. You're a smart one, im sure you can avoid issues like this in the future
