How do you still not understand that it does not matter what map you switch it to, players still have to download the new map to play on the server which does take a while meaning that people will leave while joining the server. And you get a massive player loss due to that. Someone please close this cancer thread.

I would probably hop on just to see what its like, I wouldn't stay there, but then again I don't really play the server much, now that I have my own server to manage.

$45 for a server map change, The least I would accept would be $100. And I would change the map back to the original map the next day lmao. But sugar is a good guy, so he wouldn't do you like that.

It would probably split the population for the first day AT BEST it will split it for the first week. Everyone will return back to the downtown_v4c_v2 server I promise you. But if anyone wants to see for themselves then just talk to sugar and send him the payment.

Yo better yet, take sugar up on that offer about opening a second server. He basically said he would dev that shit for you. All you would have to do is hand sugar some cash and sit back and relax. You would get your map change, but don't expect more than 5 people on it past the first day of it opening.

What you guys don't understand about a map change is, there are only 3 options for a map if you want to kind of have a playerbase (because any map change kills your playerbase). You can either run evo city v33x which requires 70+ people on the server to effectively use that map, you can run evil melon which will cause the server to have about 5-10 people on at peak hours, or you can keep the current map and keep your entire playerbase. Any other maps besides the ones that I just listed, is a bad idea and will kill your playerbase down to a point where you will average 1-2 people at peak hours. Suggesting "similar downtown variants" is such a bad idea... like a really really really bad idea. I once started a thread on a map change that got 4 or 5 pages of comments, and I wanted that map change BAD. I would bug sugar to death on a map change. But now I understand why a map change is such a bad idea. So stop suggesting map changes, it will NEVER happen.

Lol... Gm_fork. Probably one of the worst maps you could've chosen for a map change. That's actually worse than picking some janky downtown variant. I remember when I wanted a map change and didn't understand how it killed the playerbase, but then I actually tried a map change for myself. I went from getting 50+ players a day to getting about 10 players at peak hours. When I switched it back to downtown the playerbase came right back like it never happened. For some reason, the gmod community hates change and a map change would be impossible for most gmod servers out there.

I have 502 hours played. Lol and I didn't even apply for staff until I had 260 hours played. Oh and fetus and his little gang were really cancer and anyone that even said one word to them also had cancer.
