I was banned for being an alternate account of STEAM_0:1:80298228. The account was banned for cheating. The banning staff said the name of the account was 'massiveslug'. Why should you be unwarned/unbanned? I would like to be unbanned because I believe this is some kind of misunderstanding. I have not been on the server in 166 days. I loaded in, walked out of spawn and was pulled and subsequently banned. I am confused because I have only ever played Gmod on my own steam accounts, and have never cheated. I think this may be some kind of mistake but I am not sure. When I searched the steam ID of the alt account, the name didn't even come up as 'massiveslug'. Who warned/banned you? I've signed into a lot of my IRL friends computers at their houses, but other than that no. Wife uses my computer but just to play the Sims lol. HOWEVER to play devils advocate This is the same as VAC, it is the users responsibility to negate all ties to anything that could create issues for ones own account (i.e. cheating/hacking,alting,etc) I'm going to wait for Kert to give a substantial verdict from his perspective as banning admin to give better insight to this. Hidden Chaos Posted December 18, 2025 Share Posted December 18, 2025 Accidents do happen, however I do not see kert making a mistake when it comes to alts. I'm sure that with a little investigating we can get to the bottom of this. Kert more than likely had your steam ID pop up when alt checking and it came up as an alt. Dontavious is correct, it is ultimately up to you who you allow access to your account, If any of those other accounts are linked Via IP address with yours this could be the reason for this ban. I would not give up hope, this will be investigated to make sure this was valid. As for this ban appeal I am leaning towards a plus 1 for removal however for now without the proof I will be neutral for now. Good luck to you man! I hope this gets resolved soon. It's not a fantastic look for you, but it unfortunately can happen if you log into Garry's Mod from a different shared device. I'm also gonna acknowledge that you really haven't been on the server in a long ass time, whereas most people who alt would have been back in days. I'm going to give you a chance and trust you on this, but bare in mind if anymore linked accounts whether they're alts or not are banned for cheating or anything even remotely related, you will be permenantly banned again without appeal. I'll go ahead and unban THIS account and give you the benefit of the doubt!
