Trade resulted in massive loss of items

Question

I was trading a pet for a sum of items in the game, and it spit out items but turned a shit load of them into single items...

Items lost -

  1. 20x gold ore
  2. 12x Chemical tokens
  3. 214x gas masks
  4. 8x diamond ore
  5. 43x legacy forger tokens

Id be happy to just have the items refunded or have it refunded in DarkRP equivalent to their market values.

Video evidence -

yeah sorry, this forum layout throws off the order of the replies once a reply is marked as the "best answer". Basically we have a popup that clearly warns you this will happen if you continue the trade. In the video you can see where you acknowledged it and chose to proceed anyways. I have very limited logs when it comes to trades. They show you received all of the items which is clearly not the case but that's why we have this warning, it's not something that can be easily recovered. For a high value trade like this you should definitely be more careful and read every warning that may pop up.

I believe Rubik has already posted up above, saying it was your fault, as you do get a warning in the trade saying your inventory cant hold it all, you still accepted and thus, it shat everywhere.
Since it was [From what i can see what Rubik meant, and by the clip] Your own fault, I dont believe you'll recieve compensation.

I’ll need to go through the logs and confirm everything. It’s not easy and it’s going to take some time.  - Rubik

I think when the server detects you are going to run into inventory issues when trading, it should not allow for a trade to occur from the client that is trying to trade. I really think that should be fixed considering there's no reason that a player would even want to continue trading knowing that they could run into stacking issues.

Quality-of-life suggestion
There could be a little popup that denies trading that simply says something like:
"You will run into inventory issues with this trade, please reorganize your inventory to make space before creating trades with this many items."

I also think that MarkCX should be cut a little slack due to this weird popup (it should just disallow the trade if we know it could cause issues) and should possibly be given a refund whether it's NPC value of the items or whatever.

Roughly calculated prices if a refund could be processed:
(whether you're calculating NPC prices or the marketplace's value)

20x Gold Ore
Marketplace Value:
$1,100,000
NPC Value: $200,000

12x Chemical Tokens:
Marketplace Value:
$2,640,000
NPC Value: $0 (could be argued that it's worth the amount of chems you get per token)

214x Gas Masks:
Marketplace Value:
$9,416,000 (a bit iffy to refund this amount since it's unlikely Mark would've been able to sell all of these for the marketplace's value).
NPC Value: $2,140,000

8x Diamond Ore:
Marketplace Value: $4,000,000
NPC Value: $240,000

43x Legacy Forger:
Marketplace Value: $6,020,000
NPC Value: $215,000

Hypothetical refund amounts:
(whether you refund for the NPC value or marketplace value)

Marketplace Value:
$15,900,000

NPC Value:
$2,795,000
Median Refund Amount
(between both value types):
$9,347,500

Okay this is fine I guess, my suggestion is to make it so if you get this warning it doesnt let you do it at all. Just like how battlepasses do when you try and collect a reward with a full inventory

Should be added, it's not good design in my opinion. Simply denying the trade until you clean your inventory is much better than just having code play merge inventory jenga or having the rest overflow and potentially (very likely) lose items.

For quality-of-life, you could even add a notification to both tradees that says "Trade has been canceled because < NAME > 's inventory is too full. Make space and try again."
