Cheating ban appeal (yet again)

For anyone that isn’t familiar with aimbots, there are two common types in source engine games. One type detours your movement and aim position and locks onto the target like this: 

 

 

More modern and advanced C++ aimbots can manipulate your aim without changing your view position. This is harder to detect and if configured properly will not be detected in video/screen recordings. This is also called “ghost aim”. These types of scripts are injected into the game and will usually not show up as external processes in the process manager.

Again, I’m not sure. I am not very experienced with the game engine or the underlying workings of GMod. The only applications I have that could possibly modify my mouse input are Razer Synapse (because I use a Viper Ultimate) and Glorious Core, which is for my keyboard.

 

The only other possible explanation I could offer is that I do have two mice plugged into my PC, both Razer Viper Ultimates. I swap them out when one runs out of battery.

I have synapse as well but that would not manipulate your mouse movement, it can change your DPI tho. I added pretty robust checks to this system to prevent false positives. I also log what weapon you were using - a tfcss_revolver, one of the highest recoil weapons on the server. I just find it strange that you would essentially have been moving around and still managed to shoot a player for X number of ticks without moving your mouse once.

Can you provide more detail on this specific incident? I don’t recall using such a gun. I may be able to go through my recordings again (once I am back at my PC).

 

Again, is it possible that “no mouse movement” was due to having multiple mice plugged in?

 

I don’t really know what else to say besides that I’m not cheating. You can see that my aim isn’t that much different in other games (see MW2 clip from previous appeal).

I don’t have any more details but as with any other anti-cheat detection methods it’s not 100%. I’m fine with unbanning you given you’ve made a fair effort at appealing and stand behind the fact that you are not using any external scripts.
