  1. 1. The fact that cc sweps are just reskins of other guns instead of custom is lame. Agree or not

Performance was fine back then even with those custom workshop guns. That’s why I asked why is it a hassle now.

We haven't allowed TFA, M9K, CW2 weapons since probably 2015-2016 at the latest. Back in the day, our server had a max player count of 32 -> 45 -> 50 -> 65 -> 70 -> and so on. The more players you add into the server, the more performance it will be. You'd think that if the server CPU at 128 players is 100% then at 64 players it must be 50%. That is entirely untrue. Adding players into the server exponentially increases CPU usage. This is the same for these weapon bases. Download the weapons and play in a server with just 4 of your buds and you. You probably get decent FPS. Now use those weapon bases and get 128 players in a server, see how your FPS tanks into the ground.

If you dive into the code for these weapon bases, you can see how unoptimized they are (not necessarily unoptimized, except kinda, but they have a LOT of functions to make them work the way they work). Go into an empty sandbox server with 0 addons and see how your FPS is probably the fps_max limit of 300. Download CW2 or these other weapon bases and use them, take out the guns and run around with them. See how much your FPS is impacted.

Some people already think FPS is bad enough in the server which I say, get out of  the fountain area because no poop you're gonna get 15 FPS when there is 10 NPCs and 50 other players and their weapons and accessories being rendered every single frame. Garry's Mod is NOT designed to handle that. Adding in those weapon bases would just blast it down even more, for every player.
