Who warned/banned you and for how long?:  dangernuudel for 7 days | Then extended to 30 days by Big Stick on dangers behalf

Why were you warned/banned?: I was banned for "exploiting vehicles to gain access to bases"

Why should you be unwarned/unbanned? :

 

     I believe I deserved to be banned, I admit what I was doing was "exploiting" a bug and I should have stopped after I realized it existed. But I don't believe my ban should have been 7 days nor should it have been extended by 30 days!  I'd like to start off by saying I never ever, Ever used this "exploit" for my personal gain, and for the majority of the time I was a citizen never raiding these people.

     I also don't believe I've ever had any warnings besides verbal correction like "kos signs arent allowed" or that "running can be made illegal by the mayor", I wasn't warned before this about this at all. dangernuudel didn't talk much but he did answer my questions!

     

     The first time I noticed the bug was when I tried to get on a motorcycle that was half way into a wall in the sewers.  after I got off of it I was teleported into a room a floor above with a very nice individual named "MrPig". My reaction was pure astonishment by what just happened, and he was kind enough to laugh it off and let me out too. after that I realized how to recreate it and pretty damn easily so I did exactly that and I went off to test it.  I found my first base with people in it (I don't remember their names as they killed me quickly)*; Spawned the motor cycle in a wall directly next to the base and double clicked E and voila! I was in their base. After sitting behind them for a few minutes I spoke and asked "please don't kill me, I glitched in here please let me leave" well they killed me and I moved on. I spawned went to one final base and did the exact same thing but this time I tried a door and poof I was in, I said "hecko please don't kill me" before finishing my sentence I was gunned down of course.

 

Here's My testimony of the Sit :   

     I spoke first before he could say anything to me since it was obvious what I was pulled for, "I know what I was doing was wrong and I won't do it anymore if you'd like me to stop I was only testing this bug I found I'm sorry"

His response was "I have two people complaining already and I just watched you do it again" (that was my third time doing it)

I then got very nervous and began to really apologize and freak out because of I wasn't hearing a response from dangernuudel then I was banned after that short exchange with really no explanation or way to defend myself.

I understand the ban I just want to know why it was it 7 days and why was it extended danger. I apologize for doing what I did but I wasn't doing it to minge people or raid! I 100% admit I got carried away with it and should have stopped sooner. after seeing how serious it is, I'll really will never do it again!

The problem I had is that I had received two separate reports from two different people in connection with this matter within 10 minutes. I decided to spectate you after the second report and within two minutes, I see you doing it again.

 

Your first encounter with the exploit should have been the last one. You either stop doing it or report it. I can understand doing it a second time just to ensure that you're reporting it properly but the third time is where the line is drawn.

 

Given that you weren't getting any personal gain from it, I'm willing to reduce this down to a 7 day ban, with permission of course.

The fact you willingly admitted to exploiting and continued to do it instead of immedietly reporting it to a staff member speaks volumes. *this* time you weren't using it for gain, but you tested it several times to clearly gather the workings of it? How long until you did use it for gain? Frankly I see no reason to lower or remove your ban. Sit exploiting has and will forever remain a cancer on the server that will be met witn the same brutal moderation until players learn not to do it or suffer the consequences.

 

as for why the ban was seven days by base, and then extended to 30. Moderators can only ban for a week max at a time, and any kind of exploiting carries a one month minimum ban. Hence it being extended. Were it an s-mod or above, it would have been an instant month or more depending on how they saw it fit. In my eyes, your ban is justified.

As Cunt and you yourself put it, you should've stopped immediately and reported the exploit when you found it out, tbh with you this isn't a new exploit by any stretch of the imagination, and you detail yourself about how you use it repeatedly even though you didn't use it to fully raid. You should remain banned, however you are apologetic and respectful in your appeal, and the banning staff member is willing to lower the ban so I will accept this appeal and lower it to 7 days which you must serve out.

 

I hope this has served an important lesson about reporting something you deem an exploit to staff rather then test it out yourself.
