Why were you warned/banned?: The ban says IRDM + LTAP. I was literally never left the game.

 

What Happened: I was with a random player that I called "my friend". Someone came up to him and started attacking him. I forget who they were, I know it was some admin dressed as like a frog or something that used some melee swep to start hitting my friend. I killed that guy and immediately realized I wasn't in a party with "my friend". About 10 seconds after killing this admin, I get tp'd to admin land and he asks me, "why did you kill me?" I told him that he killed my friend. He then replies "Are you in a party with your friend?". At this I replied "No". Right than in their I am immediately banned for IRDM + LTAP, 7 day extension by Cobaselic. I literally was talking to a different admin and mistakenly got taken for someone else and was banned for 7 days. This staff member obviously made a mistake. I'm not mad anymore, however, it's just annoying because now I'm wasting time that I could've spent playing writing up this report. However, I have been a staff on several servers in the past and have made numerous mistakes myself. I just want this mistake to be acknowledged.

 

Why should you be unwarned/unbanned? : I didn't commit the offense that is listed in the ban. Someone banned me on accident instead of banning a different player.

What does actually make me quite aggravated is that after I was obviously falsely banned, I am still actively banned without anyone fixing the situation automatically. If it was me, I would reban the person for 1 minute because Ik i fucked up. It seems like some staff don't really care about players' experiences. I guess I'll play on a different server.

I mean just going to say Intent rdm and LTAP shouldn’t be a 7 day ban ever at most irdm LTAP should be a 4-5 day ban ltap only adds a day to the ban it doesn’t instantly put it to 7 days also unless the person purposely broke the rule and knew you had to be in a party it wouldn’t be intentional RDM also I just read your comment at the bottom don’t be so malicious we have an appeal system so you can show why you should be unbanned not just post it and get unbanned instantly or you could just get back on and rdm if you were and RDMer so there’s a reason for you not being unbanned until the banning staff comments so don’t try to be passive aggressive in your appeal it really doesn’t help you

I agree with speedy. I personally would have done a 3 day for IRDM and LTAP but it was cobaselics ban so it is up to him. But the players attitude can also affect bans so if you weren’t behaving in the sit, that’s what possibly extended it to 7 days. I forwarded it to cobaselic so he should respond with an answer soon.

While it is a bit much, cobaselic’s decision is legitimate. Staff’s word is just until proven otherwise so we will always side with our team unless you can prove that it was indeed a false ban. You can always do this by using recording software and we have a few suggested ones within our guidelines. With that said though, I do +1 for a reduction as making a ban appeal does show some sense that you still want to be apart of this server. You also didn’t write with a whole mess of hostility to the banning staff member, which sometimes can happen without you meaning it.
